It’s that time of week again: time for some new music to ring in the weekend. Today, we’ve got the sophomore album from Chicago’s Mick Jenkins, Pieces of a Man.
Mick Jenkins has become a lyrical darling, placing a premium on one of hip-hop’s increasingly less emphasized cornerstones. Mick’s second full-length album, Pieces of a Man follows his 2016 The Healing Component, and, despite always appearing like an old soul, showcases a more polished, mature Mick than we’re used to on his earlier work. Pieces of a Man is an introspective body of work, placing Mick’s deepest thoughts and emotions on wax for listeners to sink deeper and deeper into with each listen.
