DMX’s Attorney to Play His Music at Sentencing

Let’s hope the judge is an X fan.

It’s no secret that DMX has had his fair share of legal battles. A man who once undisputedly dominated hip-hop has recently been overshadowed by his continued battles with the justice system. Most recently the “Ruff Riders Anthem” rapper was indicted on tax evasion charges, tallying $1.7MM in total owed to the US government. His lawyer has an interesting plan to alleviate the severity of the sentencing.

X’s attorney, Murray Richman, understands his client’s pain, anguish, and musical genius. He understands it so much that he’s planning on playing a collection of X’s work for the judge to help him “understand him genuinely in his voice”. Referring to X’s music, Richman said, “It is raw Earl…We are not here or desirous of molding him into what some may want to see; Earl is uniquely him and that is both his beauty of mind and his genius.”

The court date is schedule for tomorrow, March 29th. Hopefully the judge will be a fan of the music, and take it into account for sentencing.
