Fans have been patiently waiting for a new Mick Jenkins project to drop ever since he released The Healing Component in 2016. While we’re still waiting on an official album follow-up, he’s tiding fans over through his recently-released SoundCloud playlist, or more; the anxious—a seven-track collection. Anchoring the playlist is the Saba-assisted track, “Energies”.
The Chicago rising stars unite on the tonally somber track to discuss the ebb and flow process of people’s energy and its interaction with themselves. Despite the energy, good or bad, they feel it—it permeates them.
