The legendary MC proves that he’s still got it.

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series has become the go-to destination for artists to showcase their versatility. Typically used to performing for sold out venues, NPR challenges artists to hone their skills in a more intimate environment–simply, a couple of cameras, a band, and, of course, a tiny desk. Most recently to grace NPR’s stage is Brooklyn’s own, Masta Ace.

Eliciting a classic Golden Age sound, Masta Ace spits powerfully over the live instrumentation to deliver a thoughtful, charismatic performance. Performing for over 17-minutes, the Brownsville native selects a diverse setlist from his storied song collection. From “Son of Yvone” off his collaboration album with MF Doom to his commercial hit, “Born To Roll”, Masta Ace keeps it fresh and entertaining.
