L.A. Councilman Plans To Rename Crenshaw Intersection “Nipsey Hussle Square”
Nip’s name will live on forever.
Nipsey Hussle’s tragic departure affected everyone near and dear to the rapper and activist — those who were directly involved musically to those were impacted by his philanthropy. Honoring him in one of the most sensible ways possible, Los Angeles councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson plans on renaming the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and West Slauson Avenue to “Nipsey Hussle Square.”
Harris-Dawson announced yesterday (April 9th) his plans to submit this application. In a press release, the councilman lauded Nipsey for his contributions to his community, and remarked how he is, and forever will be, a west coast hero, icon.
This tribute was sparked by an online petition, which has amassed over 500,000 signatures.
Nipsey was a beloved artist, activist, businessman, philanthropist, man, and this rename is just a small indicator of the impact that he had.
Nipsey Hussle’s memorial service will take place tomorrow, April 11th, at the Staples Center.
