Juelz Santana Releases First Song From Behind Bars, “23 & 1”

Taking inspiration from Meek Mill.

While he’s currently behind bars on a gun charge, Juelz Santana won’t let anything stop him from releasing new music. Recently, the New York legend delivered a new single, “23 & 1.”

Speaking on the horrid truths of imprisoned life, Juelz uses someone who’s all too accustomed to a jailed world, Meek Mill. From the song’s structure taking influence from Meek’s “Dreams & Nightmares,” “23 & 1” closes with a message from the Dream Chasers leader: “Free my n***a Juelz, real dripper. I was in a jail call. He was in jail. 23 & 1. I told him, ‘hold ya head, n***a.’ He be back soon.”
