In Cyclical Fashion, Lauryn Hill Performs Remix of “Nice For What”
Ms. Hill is on her inception flow.
If you’ve been anywhere in the realm of hip-hop, or music at large, then you’re more than familiar with Drake’s latest hit, “Nice For What”. The anthem for all strong independent women, the instant Drizzy classic also takes flight due to the incredibly well-produced Murda Beatz production, which samples the transcendent Ms. Lauryn Hill’s song, “Ex-Factor”. Coming full-circle, Hill recently performed a remixed rendition of “Nice For What”–essentially, it’s a remix inside of a remix.
Ahead of her upcoming 20th anniversary tour for her iconic album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Lauryn entertained a crowd at Harlem’s storied Apollo Theater on May 1st. Feeling confident in herself and her highly-regarded work, Lauryn rapped during her song, “He took the sample. My shit a classic. Here’s an example”.
