Another week’s in the books, and while we unfortunately can’t rejoice in a traditional weekend celebration, that doesn’t mean that the “New Music Friday” train stops rolling. Supplying listeners with fresh heat are REASON and Earl Sweatshirt.
As part of TDE’s “Fan Appreciation” week — which has featured releases from Ab-Soul, Zacari, Isaiah Rashad, and SiR — REASON has come through with his name-dropping new single, “Might Not Make It.” In a clever fashion, the Carson, CA MC names everyone from Donald Trump to Megan Thee Stallion, all while deftly crafting enticing bars.
Next up, Earl Sweatshirt has tapped Los Angeles’ MAXO on his new single, “Whole World.” Both Earl and MAXO are leading figures in the alt-hip-hop space, known for carving niche sonic pockets that have spawned cult followings, framing their collaboration as a union of powers.
