Take a trip back to the ’70s with Cordae & .Paak.

Although just 22-years-old, YBN Cordae has amassed tremendous industry and fan respect for being the nexus of the old school and new wave. Dropping samplings of his heighted lyricality on songs like “Old N*ggas,” Cordae’s musical prowess came to a head on his debut project, The Lost Boy. Recently, the DMV rapper linked with Anderson .Paak to bring one of the album’s standout tracks, “RNP,” to life with the new music video.

Embodying the song’s vintage, funky sound, the APLUS-directed visual is cloaked in ‘70s vibes — thanks to cultural touch points like retro TV sets, plush afros, and boat-sized Cadillacs — that further elucidate Cordae’s old soul. Starring alongside .Paak, the dynamic duo recreates martial arts blaxploitation themes and break ankles on the basketball court in front of a raucous crowd, all en route to being the story’s heroes.

Unsurprisingly, the “RNP” video is an entertaining journey that shows the two’s chemistry transcends music, permeating the macro entertainment landscape.

Additionally, Jay Pharoah and John David Washington are among two prominent cameos in the video.
