The-Dream-Assisted Version Of JAY-Z’s “Holy Grail” Surfaces

Thanks to an Instagram Live battle.

Some auspicious happenings can occur from negative circumstances. With everyone on lockdown, artists have relied heavily on their creative minds to cope with the quarantine. The other night, The-Dream had an Instagram Live battle with Sean Garrett, which led to the release of an alternate version of JAY-Z’s “Holy Grail.”

A track from Hov’s 2013 Magna Carta Holy Grail album, the recently-surfaced alternative “Holy Grail” version has The-Dream singing Justin Timberlake’s part — the version which appeared on Jay’s album.

Tidal tweeted a quote from The-Dream, “I wasn’t tight – much respect to @jtimberlake. I wasn’t tight at all. However, I did feel that from the pain and what it meant for me.. to voice that and to sing that.. it just meant something.”
