TDE’s Newest Artist, Reason, Releases Debut Album, ‘There You Have It’
A strong introduction from the new TDE artist.
As prodigal artist Kendrick Lamar once passionately uttered, “TDE the mafia of the west”. And it’s true–they move in silence, and seemingly always secure the industry’s best-kept secrets. They signed the enchanting SiR in January 2017; in July 2013, they landed one of the most powerful female voices, SZA. Now, the group can claim another impressive addition: Carson, California’s Reason, who just released his inaugural TDE album, There You Have It.
A 12-song offering, There You Have It vulnerably portrays Reason’s adolescence through well-written rhymes, which fit perfectly with TDE’s premium placed upon lyricism. From discussing losing his cousin to the drug game to wishing for “Better Dayz”, There You Have It is a sound rookie release from the promising rapper who hasn’t even begun to scratch the surface of his potential.
