Rakim, of Eric B. & Rakim, is consistently regarded as one of — if not the — best lyricist of all time. A driving force behind the seminal Paid in Full album, Rakim’s relationship with the written word is a rare bond that he’s honed beautifully throughout his tenure. With such a dense career and mind, a man of that magnitude needs the additional mediums to unpack his legacy. Fortunately, his memoir, Sweat The Technique, is scheduled to arrive on September 24th.
A play on the 1992 album Don’t Sweat The Technique, Rakim’s upcoming memoir will dive into the layered life of the 51-year-old Long Island native, laying the blueprint for his otherworldly career.
This memoir has been several years in the making, and in less than a month, we’ll finally receive an in-depth look into what’s made this man so damn talented and transcendent.
Sweat The Technique will be 272 pages long, and will be released through Harper Collins.
