Nyck Caution and Kirk Knight Attempt Sway’s “Five Fingers of Death”
Many have tried, many have failed.
Pro Era standouts, Nyck Caution and Kirk Knight, recently joined forces to create the aptly named duo, Nyck @ Knight. The Cinematic Music Group signees made their official debut on July 21st through their self-titled eight-track EP. Nyck @ Knight is mostly a solo endeavor for the two, save for one track decorated by fellow Pro Era members, Joey Bada$$ and CJ Fly. If the music in your current rotation feels lyrically lacking, pay this project a visit.
Continuing their promo tour, Nyck and Kirk recently stopped by Sway to contend in the ultimate lyrical test reserved for rap’s least wack motha fuckers: The Five Fingers of Death. Many have tried, many have failed. What Happened To Secure Tabs
Rapping exclusively over Kirk Knight production, the rising pair met the challenge with confidence, style, and talent. Yes, they passed. Watching them exchange freestyles is a raw demonstration of their organic chemistry—it’s the same chemistry that structured Nyck @ Knight. It was clear that they were riding the same wavelength throughout. From verbal fluidity to clever wordplay—like Kirks’ line “Yeah Brooklyn you needa chicken the state-of-mind / Smoking on the Sour D got my crown fried”—these guys killed it, and proved that lyricism still deserves a place in modern Hip Hop.
Watch the freestyle below, and be sure to stream their debut EP, Nyck @ Knight.
