MF Doom Keeps The Tracks Coming
Five down, ten to go.
It’s Doom’s day—again. Rap’s unicorn, in partnership with Adult Swim, has been releasing one track per week off of his Missing Book of Rhymes album. So far we’ve received a diverse grouping of songs with features from the late great Sean Price and Jay Electronica. Today, we can add another track to the mix—and another feature.
In keeping with his stripped-down track title motif, Doom’s latest song is entitled “Notebook 04”, and features a man who can rival Doom’s mysteriousness, Kool Keith. The beautiful thing with Doom is that no two tracks sound alike, and thus far no two Missing Book of Rhyme songs bear direct correlation.
“Notebook 04” is introduced in grand fashion with profound, cinematic trumpets that transitions into a classic-sounding ‘90s beat. A whole verse referencing batman ensues, followed by an eccentrically staple Kool Keith 16.
