California’s Mack 10 is an independent hip-hop icon. While avoiding major labels in favor of complete ownership is now trendy, it used to be antithetical to a winning formula. Coming onto the scene in the early ‘90s, it should have behooved Mack 10 to go the major label route — and yet he didn’t, and he’s a legend. Now, the Hoo-Bangin’ Records captain is ready to continue his indie wave, as he’s recently announced his Redprint album.

During an interview with Murder Master Music Show, Mack 10 spoke on how COVID-19 has ironically benefited him, as he’s been able to focus on creating music. Responsible for a thriving business, Mack admitted that his musical pursuits had taken a backseat, but quarantine forced him to rediscover his love for the craft.

With this forced rededication, Mack 10 is now ready to unearth his lab sessions with Redprint — his first solo LP since 2009’s Soft White.
