Jay Rock is All About the “Win” on His Latest Track

While his labelmates have been consuming the majority of the media’s attention and narratives, Jay Rock has been sitting dormant, waiting for his chance to strike. Between the thicket of strong TDE releases, like Kendrick’s DAMN., SZA’s Cntrl, and the Black Panther album, Jay Rock’s presence has been stunted, but that doesn’t mean he’s gone away. Like I said, he’s been sitting dormant, waiting for his chance to strike. Late last night, he saw his opening, and he pounced.
Jay Rock’s 2018 campaign, aside from his “King’s Dead” Black Panther track, has officially begun with the release of his newest track, “Win”–a terse, yet effective track title. From the jump, this roughly three-minute, thirty-second track’s exhilarating sonics, produced by Boi-1da, courses through the listener’s vains like auditory cocaine. It’s a triumphant return for the flagship TDE member, and a reminder to never, ever, forget about Jay Rock.
