It’s here.

Cole elated the hip-hop community with his surprise album announcement just a few days ago. After playing it for an exclusive group of first-come-first-served patrons in New York and London, Cole further contextualized his forthcoming release through tweets. He informed fans that his album, KOD, has three meanings: Kids on Drugs, King Overdosed, Kill Our Demons. Officially as of midnight last night, fans can now further interpret Cole’s work, as it’s now available on all streaming platforms.

Coming in at 12-tracks, 42-minutes, KOD is again a featureless project that will most likely go platinum given Cole’s stature and influence. (There are two tracks featuring a kiLL edward, but that is rumored to be Cole himself.) Juxtaposing hard-hitting beats with soulful melodies, KOD is a dynamic offering rich in conceptual depth. From tackling issues revolving around fame, hubris, drug abuse, coping with pain, and more, Jermaine effectively spreads his message while leaving room for fans’ interpretation.

KOD is J. Cole’s first album since 2016’s 4 Your Eyez Only.
