Respected veteran rappers, Freddie Gibbs and Curren$y, are two sides to one coin. While Freddie consistently delivers harrowing street-laced rhymes with his deep, rugged voice, Curren$y foils him by offering an imperturbable style typically revolving around his love for weed, his hometown of New Orleans, and his classic car collection. And like magnets, these opposing styles attract one another, rather than resisting; they complement one another, creating a cohesive offering.
Announced a little while back, Freddie and Spitta have made good on their promise to deliver a joint project, Fetti. Produced by Alchemist, Fetti is an apt example of how their style creates consonance.
Coming in at a succinct nine-tracks, Fetti is a featureless effort, allowing breathing room for the two to demonstrate this harmony.
