Eminem Nabs Top 2018 Album Honors
A big congrats goes out to Eminem.
If Eminem’s surprise 2018 album, Kamikaze, proved anything, it’s that the 46-year-old influential, legendary artist is still as palatable as ever. Upon its release, the 13-track album flooded media outlets and fans’ playlists, claiming the majority of Genius’ real estate on the lyrical annotation website’s top “most viewed” lyrics. Now, Shady can add another accolade to his decorated championship belt: Kamikaze had the highest 2018 album sales.
2018 was no slouch of a musical release year–not by a long shot. Joining Eminem was fellow legends like Lil Wayne, Drake, Jay Z & Beyoncé, Kanye West, as well as today’s luminescent stars like Migos, Travis Scott, Cardi B, among others. Still, despite the robust competition, Slim still clawed his way to the top, claiming last year’s highest selling album.
Kamikaze has amassed over 373k sales; Eminem was the fourth-highest 2018-streamed artist, following Drake, Post Malone, and XXXtentacion.
