Dave East & Styles P Announces Joint Album, ‘Beloved’
Dropping October 5th.
Dave East is heralded as dynamic talent whose sound trends both towards hip-hop purists and new wave enthusiasts–a bridge, if you will. A true representative of his New York origins, East offers skillfully-crafted rhymes, facilitated by his denticulate voice and malleable flows; no beat is unfamiliar territory for the Paranoia rapper.
While East is a consistent candidate for collaborations with fellow rising stars, he knows to respect his elders and pay homage when appropriate–he’s more than aware that he wouldn’t be enjoying this ascent without his forefathers laying the path for him to walk across. One of those early inspirations for East, and a fellow New York native, is none other than one-third of The Lox, Styles P. According to recent reports, it looks like that respect will transcend traditional fandom, as the two have announced a joint album dropping imminently.
Their forthcoming collaborative album, Beloved, is expected out next Friday, October 5th. Taking to their respective Instagrams to share the news, both parties sound equally excited to be working with the other. Styles also took to his Twitter, saying, “One thing I can do for sure is rhyme my ass off !! But more than that I promise you BELOVED with @DaveEast and myself is pure organic uncut nyc hip hop for the entire hip hop world!! All age groups young geez / og’s, the queens n the thots ,legal dudes, criminals, All!”
Individually, they are bright, respected talents; united, as evidenced on their Kehlani-assisted “Feels Good” track, they coalesce to create harmonious music. On October 5th, we’ll hear what they can produce with a full LP.
