André 3000 Releases Two New Songs for Mother’s Day
3 stacks is back.
When André 3000 releases new music, the entire music world stands at attention in awe, in anticipation. 3 Stacks is cemented in hip-hop lore, for his contributions to the iconic Outkast duo and his solo feature work, both which hinge upon his dynamic, distinct flow and lyrical penchant. While his presence is sparingly felt due to his focus on acting and other career ventures, when he does return, it’s like he’s never left.
In honor of Mother’s Day yesterday, the famed artist released two new songs, “Me&My (To Bury Your Parents)” and “Look Ma No Hands” featuring James Blake. According to Pitchfork, the songs were written and recorded several years ago, with the first being an homage to his late parents who passed away within a year of each other, and the latter being an instrumental offering that features André demonstrating his bass clarinet skills with Blake playing backup keys.
