2/7 “New Music Friday”

Back like we never left, welcome to the 2/7 edition of “New Music Friday.” Today’s slate of releases is packed with a diverse collection of drops, including Alchemist & Boldy James and D Smoke.

Linking up for their third collaborative endeavor, Alchemist and Boldy James have come through with The Price Of Tea In China. Coming in at 12-tracks, the joint effort features Vince Staples, Benny The Butcher, Freddie Gibbs, and more. This follows their year-ending project, Boldface; their first collab came in 2013 with My 1st Chemistry Set.

Next up is Ingelwood’s D Smoke, the bilingual winner of Netflix’s inaugural Rhythm & Flow series, with his debut album, Black Habits. Following his seven-track 2019 EP, Inglewood High, D’s rookie project is a dynamic sonic journey, conflating his singing and rapping chops, and is filled with respectable Cali co-signs, such as Snoop Dogg and his brother, SiR.
