11/28 “New Music Friday”

It’s the most wonderful time of the week: the industry’s designated drop day, commonly known as “New Music Friday.” While it would be reasonable to think that top artists and burgeoning acts alike would prefer to disperse releases throughout the week to optimize streams, hip-hop is a competitive sport — each artist is out here trying to prove why they deserve maximum attention. For today’s edition, we have drops from Styles P, Iamsu!, and Boosie Badazz.

Today marks a special day, as the New York legend, Styles P, comes through with his 10th studio album, Presence. Fittingly, it runs 10-tracks deep, and features fellow gritty Big Apple MCs Chris Rivers, Conway, and Benny The Butcher, in addition to others.

Traveling across the coast, we have a new album from the prolific Iamsu! with his fifth studio album, Boss Up V. Released just a day ahead of his 29th birthday, the new Su offering features Skippa, Kool John, Show Banga, and Dave Steezy. It follows his project, Its Always Pure Love, which dropped earlier this year.

Last, but certainly not least, is the Lousianna stalwart himself, Boosie Badazz, with Talk Dat Shit. With the lone feature belonging to Mulatto, the new Boosie tape allows him to flex his creative muscle by talking that talk — or, should I say, talking “dat shit.”
