The Game Assists TOBi On “City Blues (Remix)”

The Game delivered his final studio album, Born 2 Rap, this past November, officially declaring his retirement. The jury is out, however, on whether or not his ninth studio album will mark his official exit from music, as artists playing jump rope with retirement is a well-worn motif. Game continues fanning these inquiring flames by linking with Nigerian rapper TOBi on his new single, “City Blue Remix.”

The original “City Blues” was released almost exactly one-year-ago, and is an homage to African diaspora and the residual effects of this disbursement. At the song’s original release, TOBi stated, “I drew inspiration from the Shakespeare quote: ‘All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts.’ “City Blues” speaks about the many roles that a human takes on at once but from my perspective.”

TOBi’s original verse remains in-tact, with Game deepening the remix with his own unique perspective and unmistakable voice and flow.
