Pay attention to the drums and you’ll know if you’re rocking to an Ice Rocks beat. Hard, crisp, and live is that consistent sound, whether it’s with artists like Meyhem Lauren and Eastkoast or his own crew, DXA. From finding inspiration in legends like RZA and Large Pro to forming his DXA crew with his boys, Ice Rocks’ foundation is rooted in hip-hop. On the rise as a talented producer with an incredible sound, Ice Rocks talks working with Meyhem Lauren on the new More Cashmere album, the importance of vinyl, working with Chopped Herring, his production process, and much more in this exclusive interview. As a bonus, Ice Rocks lets an exclusive beat go. If you’ve got what it takes, rock to it and tweet it to @icerocksdxa and @seven3zero and you may hear it on a few sites. And either way, check out the jewels Ice Rocks drops in this dope interview.
The wait is finally over, Wu-Tang Clan’s first album in over seven years, A Better Tomorrow, is here. After teasing the album with singles like “Ruckus In B Minor,” “Necklace,” and “A Better Tomorrow” the Staten Island rap collective has made the entire album available for stream via YouTube. Take a listen through the album after the jump, which will be available for purchase beginning December 2.
After finally announcing the release of their highly-anticipated, long-gestating new album A Better Tomorrow back in early October, Wu-Tang Clan followed it up by dropping two new tracks within a span of a few weeks. Those two new cuts being “Ruckus In B Minor” (which they performed on Letterman last night) and the gritty “Necklace.” Now Clan is back in the front, sharing the title track. A Better Tomorrow will be released on December 1 via Warner Bros., Wu-Tang Clan’s new home. Listen to “A Better Tomorrow” after the jump.
The wait is finally over. After announcing their forthcoming, long-gestating A Better Tomorrow will be released despite delays and inner group conflict the Wu goes and shares a proper follow-up to “Ron O’Neal” (released back in August, jeez!) with “Ruckus In B Minor”. If that isn’t enough to get Wu-Tang Clan fans hyped the new song opens with some words from the late great Ol’ Dirty Bastard. Listen after the jump.
RZA sits down with Arsenio Hall to discuss the 20th anniversary of “Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)”, Raekwon holding up the next Wu album, and ODB.
