The D.I.P Agenda seems as though it’s been a long time coming.

It’s a long time coming. My last release was a couple of years ago. I’m so excited about it because we haven’t been in the stores, collectively, together, in a long time so this is a breath of fresh air to everybody. Not just for me, but for the fans too.

You recently released the As He Goes In mixtape. Are you happy with how that did?

Oh, the feedback’s been great. First off, I got lucky because the Buck 50 Kutter DJs volunteered to do it on the strength and those kids are amazing. Together, with them and with Rob Swift endorsing it the way that he has, we’ve gotten love all over the place with that mixtape.

Congratulations on coming up so fast in the game. Does it feel kind of surreal?

Man, it’s definitely been a journey and thank you for those wishes. It means a lot. It’s been a long, hard journey and we’re still on the road. We’re not even halfway there. We’re going to keep on grinding and making it bigger and bigger.

“For real though, I got the underground boss shit wrapped around my finger, not a rapper or a singer that’s quite as ill as I am,” Celph Titled proclaims on “Step Correctly” before threatening to “pop out your eyes and scramble them bitches next to the bacon in my frying pan.” Blending psychotic yet incredibly clever punchlines has kept Celph Titled as an underground favorite for years as a solo artist, member of the Demigodz and Army of the Pharaohs and as a frequent collaborator with Styles of Beyond and Linkin Park frontman Mike Shinoda.

You’ve dropped three quality installments of The Haze Diaries. Are you happy with the response you’ve gotten so far?

Yeah. We’re happy with the reception. We’ve been doing them just to do them as fun giveaway projects. Me and Quickie Mart decided we were going to do it and give it away for free. We figured why not give them enough stuff for free so that when we do start selling it they’ll support?

You’re doing an entire project with producer Stu Bangas. How did that come together?

Well, Stu got at me over the net. He reached out and we did a couple joints. And then I was feeling his style so, you know, he wanted to do a couple joints together and he said he wanted to do some shit with me and I was like, ‘Oh, word.’ I’m always looking for new talent and new producers to fuck with anyway so we ended up doing a nice little project.
