    Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail Album Tracklist Revealed

    Today Jay-Z’s staff organized a scavenger hunt through Brooklyn to find out Magna Carta Holy Grail‘s tracklist. Check out what the winners have posted. Production credits and features haven’t been revealed yet but we know that Pharrell, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are part of the project. the album drops July 4th for the first 1 million Samsung users who download the Magna Carta Holy Grail app (available June 24th on Google Play.)     Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Not Going Platinum Before Hitting Shelves?

    Looks like the first 1 million copies of Magna Carta Holy Grail Jay-Z will be giving away for free will not be counted by Nielsen Soundscan.

    It looked like Jay-Z’s album would already be platinum before dropping in stores but Billboard doesn’t count bulk sales . (more…)

    Jay-Z Teams Up With Samsung For Magna Carta Holy Grail Album

    The commercial just aired during Game 5’s half-time show and it looks like Jay-Z has teamed up with Samsung to release a free album entitled “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” due July 4th. Rick Rubin, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz and Pharrell contribute to the album. The catch? Samsung has purchased 1 million copies of Jay-Z’s coming album and plans to give them to Samsung Galaxy smartphone users for free – 72 hours ahead of the release.

    Since Samsung pays $5 apiece for the albums, this means that Jay-Z has already made $5 million in sales before the album is even released.
