Back in August, Fabolous released a loosie track — entitled ”Gone for the Winter” — and he’s kept quiet since. Fittingly, just as the temperature’s rising, Fab is back with the heat the fans desperately needed. Teaming up with Atlanta’s Rich Homie Quan, Fabolous goes full Dead Presidents in the visuals for ”We Good” — a track that first appeared on his Young OG Project last year. Additionally, the grim visuals (featuring face paint and shootouts) are apt for Halloween, which is tomorrow! Fab has also teased at the notion of dropping a new project, Summertime Shootout, but we’ve yet to hear anything from that. In the meantime, check out Fabolous’ ”We Good” video featuring Rich Homie Quan after the jump.
It looks as if Jadakiss is taking notes from his LOX compadre Styles P and even Brooklyn’s Fabolous for his latest freestyle “Where I’m From.” Jadakiss has linked up with The Breakfast Club’s DJ Envy for a weekly freestyle session. Here Jada goes over Jay Z’s classic “Where I’m From” cut. Listen after the jump.
Fabolous’ ongoing #FridayNightFreestyles has been a relative success thus far but with this new one right here it’s either make it or break it for how you feel about Loso. Sure, he’s already gone over an undisputed classic in his “B.A.S.” freestyle but Mobb Deep’s 1994 cut “Shook Ones Pt. II” is a milestone/watershed moment for hip-hop. It’s such a statement in hip-hop culture that even one iconic Detroit rapper Eminem has stated numerous times that its had a profound impact on him. In fact, you may recall Eminem’s “B-Rabbit” character from 8 Mile rapping over the track during his final freestyle battle. Anyway, if Loso doesn’t deliver and do this classic instrumental justice then his whole #FridayNightFreestyles is moot. You be the judge after the jump.
Fabolous is continuing his weekly streak of dropping some freestyle heat. He has blessed us with a freestyle over Dr. Dre’s “B***hes Ain’t Sh*t” from his seminal 1992 album The Chronic then he gave us “Told Ya’ll.” This week Fab is sharing “Take It Easy” where he goes over Mad Lion’s 1994 original. Check it out after the jump!
New Jersey’s Fetty Wap is blowing up thanks to his breakout single “Trap Queen.” And naturally, everyone is jumping on it to either remix or freestyle. First we had one exclusively done by French Montana which prompted Atlanta’s Quavo (of the Migos) to jump on it, too. Now, Fabolous is contributing a verse to the French Montana remix of “Trap Queen.” Listen after the jump.
