Congrats to our boy Young Sav for being named VP of Rick Ross’ MMG. Sav has been grinding for years at Def Jam or at his Best Of Both Offices biz and he definitely deserves this.
“Feels great calling one of the hardest workers and few people I consider a close friend the new VP of MMG,” said Rick Ross in a statement.
Sav will be in charge of growing the careers of the existing MMG roster and scouting new talent.
“Kendell a.k.a Young Sav’s talent and knowledge helped redefine the lifestyle approach to marketing and promoting some of the biggest names in hip-hop,” said Shawn Pecas Costner, SVP of Def Jam Records. “He’s one of a kind.”
“I am extremely excited to embark on this new path in my career.”, said Young Sav, “I appreciate Ross for noticing my grind, work ethic and giving me a major opportunity to not only be apart of this label, but also help execute his vision. It’s going to be a privilege to work with the brand and assist in taking it to the next tier. All of the artists on the roster are amazing. I’m ready to get to work.”

Jay Z embodies so much of what makes New York New York. A kid from a tough neighborhood who grows up in public housing, overcomes lots of bad influences on the street, never lets go of his dream, makes it to the top — and then keeps going, pursuing new outlets for his creativity and ambition. When no one would sign him to a record contract, he created his own label and built a music empire — before going on to design clothing lines, open sports bars and, most recently, represent professional athletes.
