[Update] Updated projection sales expect Magna Carta Holy Grail to sell 475-525k in its first week.
Even though Jay-Z’s “Magna Carta Holy Grail” has been downloaded for free on a lot of smartphones, industry sources suggest it might sell 350,000 – 400,000 in its first week. Jay-Z’s last solo studio album, 2009’s “The Blueprint 3,” opened at No. 1 with 476,000 sold in its first week. His collaboration with Kanye West, “Watch the Throne” also started at No. 1 with 436,000.
Jay-Z stopped by Hot 97 to speak with Angie Martinez and he discussed everything from the iconic studio sessions from his latest album, Dame Dash, unreleased Beyonce music, his career, life, his inspiration to hop on Twitter and talk to his fans, and much much more in the 90 minute interview.
