One thing is almost sure, 50 cent's Before I Self-Destruct album won't top the charts for its debut.
HitsdailyDouble released sales projections today and 50 Cent is on track to sell between 150 and 160,000 copies on his first week. Will the Interscope machine make sure this doesn't happen?
John Mayer should get the #1 spot with close to 300,000 sales while a battle for the second spot will probably take place between Casting Crowns, Norah Jones and 50 Cent.
50 Cent's album was released on iTunes one week prior to the official store release so we will see if Nielsen Soundscan takes those sales into account.
This is still a big disappointment as his previous album, Curtis, sold 691,000 copies in its first week (September 11, 2007.)
Stay tuned next week.
