I just got your music, and I'm very impressed...give Heads some background info about you so they know who you are.

I'm Skyzoo from NYC and I been doin this Hip Hop thing for 13 years now.

What music have you released so far?

I've released four mixtapes so far. Each one has done at 5,000 units nationwide.

What project has moved the most units for you?

The "Greatest Flow on Earth" tape moved 15,000 units to date. So that did best numbers wise.

You got a good style where you don't rely on corny punchlines to draw in your listener...how would you describe your style?

I just love making music that people everywhere can dig. I'm all about this hip hop. I don't worry about the so called "crazy lines". I'm more about making incredible songs.

"Just My Thoughts" is a dope album, and you got a lot of big names on it...9th, Kanye, JDilla, Rusch, Needlz...how did you get all those names?

All thru association. J.Rusch is my peoples since way back. Needlz sent me a beat CD a while ago. He's a beast. I know mad producers who hit me off on the strength of them feeling my music. No money involved.

What was it like working with JDilla?

I never got to work wit Dilla in the lab, but I met him at a show in NYC and we connected rite away. We switched numbers and kept in touched. I got tons of beats from Della.

What about Kanye, when did you get at him for the track?

One of my peoples knows him and played him some stuff. Next thing I know, I got a beat on the strength. Good looks homey!

How was it working with 9th?

Incredible. He's serious wit his. He got beats for days! And everything is bananas. He's a good dude personally too.

What kind of relationship do you have with the Justus League?

That's my family right there. I actually just got back from NC last week doing an album wit 9th and Khrysis. In 6 days we did 15 joints and now Khrysis is mastering it and we're shopping it to indie labels now.

Rusch is one of my favorite up-and-coming producers, what's it like working with him and how did you two meet?

I met Rusch at a radio show that I did a while ago and we clicked automatically. He got crazy beats too.

Your press kit says you turned down a show on MTV2 and Much Music but you turned it down, what was the show?

It was a countdown hip hop show that they were starting and they were looking for hosts.

Why'd you turn it down?

My love of making music made me fall back from it. The money was looking good but I knew that I wouldn't get taken seriously music wise if I came to the world as a TV star first. No matter how good the music is, they're gonna always look at me as a TV star first, so I had to dip that.

How did you get down with Guinness Stout Beer and what did you do for them?

Thru an old management company I worked with. They hooked it up and I was able to get a nice check off of it.

You won Underground Artist of the Year at the 2004 UMA's, how did that feel?

It was incredible. It means the most to me because it's from the real fans. Not the ones who can find your music easily, but the ones who search hard for your tapes and really love you w/out a deal. It's from them so it's a different level of love.

What has that done for you so far?

It's gotten me alotta girls. Nah but it's also helped me as far as exposure and recognition in the streets and the underground.

You've opened up for a lot of big names, what has been your favorite show?

Rocking in VA at the University of Richmond. It was unbelievable. The venue was expecting 600 people, the capacity was 800, and the turn out was 2200. It was nuts.

What was it like opening up for 50 Cent?

Crazy. I got to see them in action right when they signed wit Dre and Em. So it was the club spots like exit, speed, etc. they always ran their operation real tight. I respect them a lot.

What's a Skyzoo show like?

Hip Hop 101. I usually start with an acapella freestyle (but not the type about the so called drug escapades and killing sprees, just pure rhymes), and then I jump into something to move the crowd. Something wit a mean bass line. And I always do something for the females. That's a surefire way to leave wit numbers at the end of the niter. I like leaving wit numbers.

You've been on a lot of mixtapes, what's been your favorite?

The DJ Boom tape I was on because that was the first tape that I ever got to be on. Boom really looked out for me on that one. I wish he still made tapes.

What's the difference when you make a mixtape track or a song?

On a mixtape, I give 150%, but on a song I give 200%. Either way you can't lose.

The Knicks are playing some of your music at the Garden, what's that feel like?

Its dope as hell. My man tone hooked that up. I did a joint wit his artist and he got it placed at the garden.

What's wrong with the Knicks?

I dunno man. We gonna get it right though. As long as we keep Jamal Crawford and Stephon Marbury we good though.

What labels have hollered at you so far?

I can't really say, but it's definitely going down reseal soon!

What does a label have to have for you?

The money has o be right but the creative control; is a must. I'll sacrifice a little bread for more creative control.

Who do you want to work with in the future as far as MC's and producers?

As far as artists, I wanna work wit Mos Def, Amerie, T.I., and a new kid named Trey Songz. He's dope. Producer-wise, I wanna work wit the heads I been working wit; like Needlz, Kanye, definitely Dilla, and all my up and comers like J.Rusch, Hasan Insane, Supasonics, Got Beats, etc.

You have a lot of confidence; do you think you can back it all up?

Definitely. I wanna make good hip hop, and I wanna bring NYC back...simple as that. I'm ready for whatever this game throws at me.

What's coming up for you?

The album I did wit the Justus League called "Who is Skyzoo" which should be droppin soon. We're shopping for the label rite now. Also, this major label deal and tryna make the music great again.
