Lexicon
- The Rapstars EP
Lexicon
is one of those groups I've always had a love/hate relationship with.
Sometimes their tracks bang to me, other times I can't stand them. I've
found the best thing to do is to take them in small doses. That way
I don't crash my bike trying to hit the fast-forward button. Lexicon
has definitely been on their grind recently, as they've had their songs
featured on Viva La Bam, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, America's
Next Top Model and Joan of Arcadia. This EP is only being released through
iTunes, so it will be interesting to see how far it goes as not many
artists have gone the strictly-digital route yet. The Rapstars plays
like a mix of hip-hop and rock, as the heavy guitars of "Big Money"
as Oak and Nick come up with excuses for being dead broke. "Junk
Food" compares females to junk food. This track can be skipped.
C-Minus lays down a banging beat for "Rock" as Oak and Nick
"rock to the rhythm." I think the Lexicon live show would
actually be pretty dope with their high energy delivery and banging
beats. If you liked "Nikehead," I think you'll like at least
two or three of the four songs on here.
