You're an RnB artist and a model, what is that like?
At times it can
be tough but I love it. I just make sure I stay focused so I can achieve my
goals!
Being a model is fun, it's still quite new to me and I'm enjoying every minute
of it. Being an RnB artist can be very trying, physically, emotionally and mentally.
But I love every second of it and I wouldn't give it up for anything, when I
step out onto any stage to perform, I remember what I was put on this earth
to do.
You were featured
in FHM Magazine, what was it like being featured in it?
It was a great experience, I mean FHM is one of the biggest magazines in the
world so it was definitely a highlight and a lot of fun! Its weird I haven't
really been out in a while because I've been so busy, and all these people I
haven't seen for ages will be like, 'hey I saw u in FHM', and I honestly had
no idea so many people bought it...
What are your
accomplishments besides being featured in FHM, in both music and modelling?
Okay well I've
had a lot of radio airplay in the America, and Australia. In Australia one of
my older tracks 'put your hands together' was in the top 5 for 5 weeks on the
radio. I've been nominated for best RnB live Artist, and Best Hip-Hop act at
the Music Oz awards 2004 over in Australia. I have done a lot of shows and concerts,
and I have opened for a lot of different acts. I have also opened for the Outlaws
in 2003. I've done a lot of guest performances too. I have been featured on
a lot of mixtapes, the latest ones being Tapemasters Inc. (Future of RnB 2)hosted
by Christina Milian, DJ Kool Kid (Shorty Wanna Ride), and King Entertainment(Sex
Sells Vol 1) which is hosted by me.
What projects do you have coming up?
Well we have been
getting a lot of interest from the right people so I am very excited about that.
I also have a lot of projects that I am very excited about. I am hosting several
mixtapes that are coming out soon, and I am also featured on a lot of new projects
that should be dropping in the near future. I have my own mixtape coming out
that will be featuring brand new material from me. That should be coming in
the next couple months, and I am working on material for my album, so I am very
busy. Lol. We work very hard and Chris (Blueprint Records CEO) supports everything
I do and we work great together so that helps a lot.
On a lot of
your records you shout out Blueprint. What does that mean?
I am an artist
on Blueprint Records, so I am shouting out the label and representing it. It
means a lot because it is something that we are proud of and we put a lot of
hard work into everything we do, so we have to represent that. Plus it is a
way to let people know who we are. Chris "King" Dwyer is the CEO and
King Entertainment is also a part of the label. King Ent. is the promotion side,
all the mixtapes, promotions, stuff like that.
When did you
decide to become a singer?
When I finished High School, I started hanging out in the music scene and met
some people who formally introduced me to music and I've never looked back.
But I have loved music my whole life.
What's the hardest
thing about being a singer/model?
The hardest thing about being a singer is sacrificing practically everything
for your art and trying to remain focused. I have a goal of what I want to achieve
and I am going to achieve that no matter what. And that means putting every
second of my time into music to make sure that I make it.
What type of
men do you like?
I should have braced myself for one of these
Lol! I like any man who treats
me right and respects my art. Color is not an issue, I don't discriminate, if
you're a good man, you're a good man.
Dog or Cat?
Cat all the way, I've got 2!
What advice do you have for girls who want to be in the entertainment industry?
Do your homework and find out who you shouldn't get to know. The entertainment
industry is a vicious place that doesn't slow down or say sorry to anyone, but
knowledge is power and if you hold the right knowledge you can save yourself
a lot of heartache and stress. Once you know who the people are that you should
stay away from then u can begin to find out who u should know, I think that's
the safest way to play this game, this industry is not for the faint hearted.
