What's up? Ya boy 730 has been putting together two mixtapes that are almost
complete. The first is HipHopGame Radio Volume 2, hosted by
Craig G. He laid down 2 exclusive freestyles over Domingo beats.
That shit is so hot! And the second is with DJ RushHour out
here in VA. Juelz Santana's gonna host the first volume of
the Street Invasion, so check for that as well. As always,
hit me up on the email for more info.
The new Hieroglyphics album is very dope. It's about time they
came back. But Outkast? I don't know how I feel about their
new album "Speakerboxxx." To me, I've never been a huge fan of Big
Boi, so a solo album from him?And Andre always kicked the best rhymes, and he's
not even rhyming on this one. I don't know, I'm gonna listen to it with an open
mind, but I'm not hyped over this one like I was with "Stankonia."
If Bonecrusher would put a damn shirt on he wouldn't always
be outside of the club. He should have thought of that before making the dis-anthem
to bouncers.
Shout out to DJ Russ who moved out to Utah and is already making
moves. He's Zapdog's Entertainment President, check them out at zapdog.net.
And holla at DJ Russ at RussRTB18@aol.com
for more info on getting on his mixtapes.
Shout Out to jos-attire.com, my bad on not spelling it right in the last column.
DJ Meddafore is back! He just put out "Let Em Know Volume
5, hosted by Max Qwest." Forever Fam is definitely representing
on this, as Splitt rips the Joe Buddens "Fire" beat to get things
started out right. Milk Entertainment's Twin Hyytaz come through for a dope,
high-energy track "Rockin with the Hyytaz." For more info on these
guys, hit up milkentertainment.com. Somehow Kon Artist of D12
was able to do a track with Ras Kass. This is a dope track,
because Ras Kass is one of the best in the game. Oh yeah, if I see one more
"Free Yayo" shirt down here in VA, I'm gonna go 730 on em. T.O.N.E.,
who's been doing his thing for a minute, came through for a dope track "The
Streets Raised Me," off his new album "The Book of T.O.N.E."
Busta and Twista came through with the "Like a Pimp Remix,"
which is pretty dope. Maybe I've been in VA too long but that South shit is
starting to grow on me a little. OoooKaaaayyyy? The "New York State
of Mind 2" is on here, the one with Nas and Rakim along with Alicia
Keys. I love this track, Nas and Rakim??? And then Alicia Keys? Damn!!! Hip
Hop needs more of this. Hearing this makes me wanna be back up north in a minute.
Side Effect also comes through and lays down a dope freestyle.
Definitely a mixtape you gotta cop. www.meddafore.com,
hit that up.
Fokis is doing it outta NYC. He's got a dope track with Killah Priest and he's
also worked with Majestic. Check him out at fokis2k.com. DJ Technic aka Technical Support is doing it big with his mixtapes.
One you should check is "The Hood Passport Volume 10," which is 42
tracks deep and has some of the summer's best bangers. This is definitely a
mixtape to ride around with. Holla at technic0@yahoo.com
for more info here. DJ Solid just dropped a new mixtape out in Philly. It's called
"Comin' for the Crown," and it's hosted by Jinx Da Juvy from Def Jam.
Jinx's track "Project Hallways" is a real dope track. At first, I
didn't really think too much of Jinx, but the more I hear from him, the more
I like him. He's got a good flow and he's saying a lot of stuff in his rhymes.
This also has the Cassidy and Jadakiss track. How about Cassidy's last line,
"I done paid my dues so I'll blow your brains out and then feed it to your
seed like baby food!" Damn that's hard. Swizz Beats is workin with Cassidy.
If you don't want your kid eating your medulla oblongata, cop Cassidy's record
when it comes out. Angelous comes through for a freestyle. The more I hear from
him, I can start to make the distinction between him and Jay. Everyone really
blew that fact up, but he's can flow and when you think about it, you really
can't change your voice, so where's the beef? Jinx drops a few freestyles and
the Alicia Keys banger is on here as well, and I got that track in heavy rotation.
For more info, holla at DJ Solid at djsolid88@hotmail.com.
DJ Kuttin Kandi teamed up with Room Service for "The Combo
Platter Volume 2," and this is one of the best mixtapes I've gotten lately.
There's 49 tracks, so the music stays moving, and there's all the hot tracks
on here, from the Akro and Lif "Show Starters" joint to Ugly Duckling,
Breez, Novel, Copywrite, Aceyalone, and Styles of Beyond. This is a very dope
mix that'll turn a lot of people onto new groups and stay in the box for a minute.
Hit up www.kuttinkandi.com
for more info on this.
The Youngbloodz are getting a lock on the dirty dirty. They're
doing some good party music right now. They may be pigeonholed later on if they
want to do songs other than "Cadillac Pimpin' and "Damn!" but
for the type of music they're tryin to do, you gotta give it to them because
they're doing it well.
Be on the look-out for a new R&B group 2B. Mike Gee from
the Jungle Brothers is putting work with those cats.
