Did anyone else
ever think that Jay and Nas would be able to sit down together and have
a real conversation? Nah, probably not. It was good to see them together on
MTV, but I’m still not sold on it. Was it just me or was Jay’s chair
positioned to be higher than Nas’? And did Jay look a little stressed or
what? He looked mad tired during the interview. I think Jay and Nas both said
the right thing, Sway asked the right questions, and it came off perfect. I
thought it was funny how quick Nas was to say that he wasn’t ready to do
an album with Jay. I don’t think we’ll ever see that, and I think
that’s a good thing. I’ve always said that they’re on different
planes and an album together would not be a good look. And is it just me or
does everyone else care a lot more than Nas that Jay was with Carmen? I really
don’t think Nas cares too much about that, or he wouldn’t have even
entertained the idea of going to Def Jam. If Nas doesn’t care about it,
no one else should. Let’s just hope Nas gets a dope album together and
Jay does what he’s supposed to on his end. Actions speak louder than words.
Thankfully Cory Gunz dropped that freestyle to redeem himself from that
“Henny” crap. All these new artists need to stop listening to A&R’s
and do what made them hot in the first place.
Props to BET for airing Ms. King’s funeral. Oh wait, they
didn’t. I mean, she was important, but not important enough to interrupt
106 and Park. I wonder what the thought process was behind that. Hmm, Field
Mob or Coretta Scott King? Civil Rights Movement versus the Field Mob. I think
we’re going to have to go with the Field Mob on this one. Sorry Ms. King.
And if that’s not enough, how about Dick Cheney going Cheddar Bob
on his pal. I get people and quails confused all the time. Shit happens. Doesn’t
it make you feel good that the dude who has access to the red button can’t
even tell a lawyer from a bird? Maybe it’s the baboon heart. I was talking
to one of my teachers from high school last week, and he used to go quail hunting.
Just out of curiosity, I asked him what the process was of quail hunting. Apparently
the point of it is to shoot the bird out of the air. He was saying there’s
not a lot of challenge in hitting a bird when it’s on the ground. Go figure.
By now everyone’s seen that Janet Jackson definitely isn’t
on the Jared diet. No big deal, right? It wasn’t until Jermaine said that
she was supposed to put on weight to star as a “southern” mother.
That’s not too stereotypical huh? Why go for Janet for that. Was Martin
Lawrence booked?
So Mos Def is a little behind in his bills. I guess Umi doesn’t
say to pay your child support.
Pitchers and catchers are finally reporting. It’s about time. Two weeks
out of football season and I’m already going crazy with these fake Olympics.
I’m actually excited about this season. There’s a lot of things to
root for this year, but the main thing I’ll be rooting for is Hank Aaron.
If Barry hits 47 homers he ties Aaron for the all-time record. That’d be
the worst thing to happen…Aaron did it facing a lot of racism and no steroids…Bonds
plays in San Francisco, where he has a lot of access to wind and steroids. Hey
if baseball doesn’t work out for Barry at least he can train with 50 Cent.
