Kanye West got album of the year for that piece of shit he called “The College Dropout” in XXL. To me, XXL is completely gone now…first they put Chingy on the cover…I wonder how much they got paid for that because I know Elliot Wilson and his staff weren’t sitting in their offices saying, “hmmm…‘Balla Baby is a very catchy tune, females seem to really dig this rapper Chingy…I think he would be a most spectacular and splendid choice for our cover.” Get the fuck outta here. Fucking sellouts. Then this Kanye shit…only two things could have happened…one, they got paid a grip of money to pretend they liked the album, or two, they actually liked the album, which is fucking sad. So either way, XXL fucked up and I’m not buying their shit anymore. Hip Hop mags are gonna all be dead in a few years anyway with everyone going wireless now, all you’re gonna need is the net and if you got that, you got HipHopGame, what more do you need?

So Jay-Z and Nas might do an album together. That’d be the biggest mistake of Nas’ career. Look how Jay-Z is doing albums now. One with Kels, one with Linkin Park…he’s turning out bullshit at an incredible rate. Jay, I thought you were retiring. If you were, then stay retired…yeah MJ came back and won 3 more championships, but you’re not the Mike Jordan of rap…yes, Jay-Z is a great MC, but the closest he ever came to being compared with Nas was with “Reasonable Doubt.” Their styles don’t even go together, and it would be nothing more than a gimmick album.

So Remy was in a car accident, I wonder if the same thing going on in the “Lean Back” video was going on when the accident happened.

Someone gets shot at a Ja Rule after party…what the fuck was anyone doing there anyway? He may be getting back to his old self again but his album sales don’t indicate the people are buying his act…I wonder what the people were fighting about…“I’m real!” “No, I’m real!” “No, I’M REAL!!!” (shots fired).

While we’re speaking on Ja, let’s go to 50. His track “Piggyback” is supposedly so controversial that Funkmaster Flex wouldn’t play it. Does anyone fucking believe that? That’s just more hype to make everyone want the song more. C’mon, Flex was one of the targets of the payola scandals when Nas called him out two years ago, and 50 Cent does not even have to ask to get a record played. And what the fuck is 50 dissing Kelis for? I can understand wanting to get at Nas for what he said at the park, but dissing Nas’ wife is taking the shit way too far. 50 needs to calm down because involving people’s families is stuff that gets you in way over your head.

Ras Kass is a free man, bout time, maybe he can bring back some good music…cuz no one else is right now. Look at how fucked up the game is…G-Unit hasn’t done anything great since 50’s album dropped…Jay-Z’s putting out filler albums to make a quick buck…Kanye’s records still get spins…Ciara somehow gets play, Anticon still puts out albums…but on the positive side, Nas dropped a classic, Saigon’s working with Just Blaze, and Grafh might drop a real album…oh yeah and Copywrite dropped a dope mixtape that turned me into a believer…and finally, the demo I got this week that I’m really feeling is this kid from Baltimore named Wordsmith, dude definitely impressed me with his album, so if you’re a DJ or MC and wanna holla hit up wordsmith42@myway.com
