Same for alot of Spurs fans.... got so high after the first game, but now they're panicking after the loss to Chicago. I'm not reading into to it at all tho. I know how good this team is, we've got all season to get our chemistry/rotations right and get guys into shape, only thing I'm concerned with is staying healthy. I see yall bein somewhere between the 4-6 seed in the East, Kawz... right on that second level with Washington and Chicago... what you think?

I made a bet in the offseason that they wouldn't make the playoffs...before they signed Belinelli, Jack, Nesterovich, Johnson, etc. I see them being around the 6-8 spot personally....still not much Defense on this team as evident by their performance this afternoon....givin up 120+ points to a Magic team without Carter, Lewis, and Pietrus? Givin up 115 points to Memphis minus Iverson? We're still gonna be the Suns/Warriors of the East. Hopefully our offense can carry us into the playoffs, but I don't see much happening after that. I watched that Spurs/Bulls game and I always think it's hard to beat a team playing their 1st game of the season at home....the Spurs would normally win that match-up 7.5/10

East
1. Boston - They'll win the East in the regular season as long as they avoid injuries. Adding Marquis Daniels and my main man Rasheed Wallace makes their defense ridiculous, and this is coming from a Spurs fan. That defense will keep them in almost every game they play. They don't have the best depth in the league, but they have probably have enough, once again, if they stay healthy. Sheldon Williams has a 2nd chance, and seems to be trying pickup on the swagger the rest of his new team possesses. His play will mean alot for them with Big Baby out to keep KG and Perk fresh. I look for them to add one more veteran to that bench during the season. 2. Orlando - Orlando is without question in my mind the deepest team in the East, and maybe the entire NBA. At first, I didn't think the VC trade made them better. But it does, for 3 reasons. 1. A healthy Vince is twice the player Hedo is, he just is. It's also the first time that Vince has played for a true contender, and he looks like he has found new life. Make that three times the player. 2. They lost depth in that trade, but they regained it in free agency. Re-signing Gortat, adding Brandon Bass, and Matt Barnes, their offseason rivals the Spurs. 3. Ryan Anderson. Basically a throwin in the trade in most peoples eyes, he was a really solid rookie last year... they now have 2 6'10 guys that can hit the 3 at ~40% to complement Dwight. Ridiculous array of matchups at Stan Van's disposal. 3. Cleveland - When they first got Shaq, things appeared great in Cleveland. Then the shock value or whatever you want to call it wore off and Delonte West went Desperado. Honestly, I question having them this high on the list, but the obvious reason they have to be... LeBron James. He's still getting better, and at a noticable rate. How that's possible, I don't know, but he could play with his high school team and get home-court in the 1st round. So since these guys are alittle bit of an upgrade over that, they get the 3 seed. They don't improve from this spot in the regular season even if Shaq gets in shape, Delonte gets his head on straight, and Anthony Parker and Moon can mesh, but it'd make me feel better about their chances in the playoffs. 4. Washington - Another team with alot of health questions, they'll need their often injured Big 3 at full strength to contend. Getting Agent Zero back this year, and also Brendan Haywood, who was playing really well under the radar before he got hurt. They add Randy Foye and Mike Miller for the pick that ended up to be Ricky Rubio. Add veteran Fabricio Oberto's championship experience and high basketball IQ to Nick Young, Andray Blatche, Javale McGee, and Dominic McGuire who are all up and coming players. This team has a shitload of talent. They could definitely take the 3 seed from Cleveland if they play to full potential. 5. Atlanta - We all saw what they could do in the playoffs last year. They're young, talented, and fun to watch. They didn't make any major changes, but they did add veteran Joe Smith to strengthen a weak frontcourt, and also add a guy who automatically becomes one of the best 6th men in the league, in Jamal Crawford. Joe Johnson still gets no respect as the superstar that he is. To me they're still at least 1 piece away from the truly elite level in the East, but that doesn't mean they can't make things happen come April/May. 6. Chicago - Another young team who had a nice showing in the playoffs last year, Derrick Rose is a superstar in the making, and you have to mention the move made at the end of last year when they brought in Salmons and Brad Miller. They get Luol Deng back from injury. Tyrus Thomas is become a really nice player when he knocks down that mid range jumper, and Joakim Noah is a taller, better, more fired up Anderson Varejao (and the hair has nothing to do with it). James Johnson impressed in the summer league/preseason, and I'm high on Taj Gibson, he has the NBA body that most young bigs lack. Kirk Hinrich will play better with a more defined role, and Janero Pargo can be a spark off the bench also. With all that said, they lost their go-to scorer and one of the clutchest players in the NBA. The whole team is solid, but none of them are great.. Can Derrick Rose pick up that slack? 7. Toronto - What a hard team to figure out. On paper, Toronto looks like a lock to make the playoffs. And then you watch them play... Chris Bosh is a stud, but I'm beginning to wonder if he's really on the level we all put him at. Sure he can go for 40 and 15, but can he win a game in the end? That's probably why they were so anxious to overpay Turkoglu after his performances last year (personally, I don't think he's one of those guys either). Their bench is a question mark to me. Calderon still can't take his game to the next level, I like bringing in Jarrett Jack to bring back little bit of a time share at PG. Bargnani on the other hand is taking his game to the next level. He's the X-factor for how good they can be this year, and if Demar Derozan can add to that, they move up the list. 8. Miami - 2 words... Dwayne Wade. Like I've always said, nobody wanted to win more than Michael Jordan, and that's what I've always seen in Wade. He refuses to not at least be involved in the playoffs and have a chance. He did it last year, he'll do it again this year. Please get this man some help! As for everybody else, Jermaine O'Neal says he's re-dedicated to making opponents fear playing him again, and Mario Chalmers is a good complement to Wade in the back court because of his defense and ability to knock down the open 3. I don't know what to make of Michael Beasley, but I do know he can play... when he feels like it. Wether or not they can be better than this 8 spot is on him. 9. Philadelphia - They could sneak up this list and it wouldn't suprise me. The reasons I have them just missing out is because Elton Brand still doesn't look healhty, a weak bench, and I don't know if Louis Williams can become a true PG and lead a team for 82 games (he's off to a good start tho). Marresse Speights is a baller and needs to play more. At least 30 minutes, I don't care who's time it cuts into, but I don't think it will happen... and if it does, it might be too late. Other than him tho, they seriously lack depth. Interested to see if Iggy continues to get better. 10. Detroit - Have alot of talent, more than a couple teams above them, but I don't think it will work. I see too many battles for playing time for a team that already doesn't get along with their coach. Similar to the Bulls, they even worse about having alot of solid players and no great ones. Don't like the moves they made to add Gordon and Charlie V for the long term either. 11. Indiana - Superstars win games. Danny Granger is a superstar. None of the other teams below here have one. If Dunleavy gets healthy and TJ Ford wakes up, they're right there with Detroit. 12. Charlotte - Lack a go-to scorer. Something that usually comes from the 2-guard spot, their weakest position. Usual starter Raja Bell is nothing more than a role player (defense and 3s), and even he's out for awhile. Larry Brown's best option imo is to use Felton and Augustine together, because Augustine's way too good to not play 30+ minutes every night. It's Larry Brown we're talking about tho, and DJ is a 2nd year PG. 13. Milwaukee - Would be higher, but Michael Redd's knee isn't gonna hold up, and who knows if Bogut stays healthy either. Brandon Jennings looks like the real deal tho, and if you're playing fantasy basketball... you, like me, fucked up by not grabbing him. 14. New Jersey - Lot of talent and potential, not enough experience. Devin Harris starting the year injured isn't a good sign, because he's a frail player to begin with. Brook Lopez is coming along, but Dwight made it clear in the 2nd game of the year that he's not ready to compete with the big boys of the league. Love T-Will, CDR, and Courtney Lee.... but they're not there yet. Those 5 need to be their main lineup, but it won't be. 15. New York - This team is bullshit. Lee, Chandler, Harrington... all pretty good, all fit D'Antoni ball... but there's a problem. They don't have Steve Nash, and they don't have the shooters. Gallinari is bullshit. An Italian chucker that an Italian coach who loves chucking it gambled on. He's gonna play, he's gonna hit 7-8 threes some nights. Doesn't make him a good player. Has Larry Hughes regained his game, or are the Knicks just so bad that it seems like it?

Having the Pacers at 11 is a joke. They are fucking TERRIBLE this year. Just lost by 17 to the Nuggets.
