It’s only week 4 and already I feel like retiring from this shit, Flawless always on a nigga nuts begging (probably on his fucking knees) Please bring the magazine out shadow, so I do, getting head of course* pause* No Homo. Last week was okish at best, we need to have at least one super match up with killer punches, but we don’t. I refuse to do a battle of the week piece in this magazine when the best battles are average at best,(step yall fucking game up). So instead of text battle of the week I’mma put up a battle video from the grind time league( real battle league with real freestylers, none of this text shit). Maybe watching the real thing’ll motivate yall to step up, especially nigga’s dropping doo doo butter verses like kidhustle and mikeb, that shit was poor as fuck, please don’t ever do that again, I’ll insult yall motherfuckers in the magazine, dedicate the wall of lame to yall. Matter of fact, next week I will be doing that. I also want to holla at these vets lingering around and shit to pussy to jump in on the league, cuz there afraid they might get whomped. Both members are in the legendary crew Str8 aim. This will be a friendly fire type of match! I think it will come down to who's afraid to cross the line and go in on the opponent. Thats why I think 7 will win this one..When it comes to battling this nigga has swag and if your his opponent for that hot 16 he couldn't give a fuck about you. Should be an interesting battle.

Both of these cats are audio heads and have also dropped mixtapes. Which makes this a very intruguing battle. Sickvick is known to be sick. But he hasn't graced the battlezone in years. And after seeing the decline of his boss., the leader of his crew VE spscarface. I think Sickvick will have an even harder time coming back and competing in this new era. Flawless is used to this and is coming off getting knocked out after holding down the #1 seed for less than a week and has a lot to prove. He's also noted as saying “ I will not lose again” We will see if sickvick makes him eat those words.

Both of these cocky and arrogant mothafukas came back out of nowhere like they owned the place. Claiming nobody on this site was good and that they could beat anyone easily. Penrino had a bit of a mental meltdown after losing to bigdog and has a lot to back up. There is also a beef between pen and chalk that seems to be brewing again. This may indeed be the match of the week. Remembering what chalk used to drop and comparing it to what pen has dropped recently. I think Chalk will edge this one in the end. I don't expect to see a KO here.

Since I hhp am involved in this match I will not make a prediction. I will say that Spoke always comes with well written verses with great flow and usually pretty good wordplay. I however think that my punches and personals will over power his verse and receive me the KO. But hey, maybe my opinion is biased. But this will be a great heavy weight bout. #1 is facing #2 again and last time this happen #2 won. Lets see if the pattern continues.

Prediction: Punchline Prince

This should be a battler full of punchlines. Jquality has been dropping some pretty witty and clever punches which led him to heavy weight status. And if you can't tell by his name, punchline prince also thinks hes pretty damn good with punches. This should be be a entertaining battle and should come down to who has the better punches equipped with personals. Thats how I think pp will get the edge and possibly win this match defeating a heavyweight.

NYT surprised a lot of heads last week by dropping fire knocking out spscarface. I think he will ride off that win and come hard and ko cmil. Cmil however has been getting better and better each drop. I am sure he is looking to pull the upset here just like NYT did to his opponent last week.

Rashad is known to be on the political side of things. Maybe he can teach kid a few things in this battle lol. Kidhustles last drop was really really poor as he lost his battle to mikeb. He just hasn't been on when it comes to straight battling matches. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Rashad has been pretty consistent and can only improve from here. I think he will start going at his opponent directly every bar and end the fillers and take this one pretty convincingly

MikeB beat kidhustle last week which is a step in the right direction for him. I think at some point it will click and he will become a much stronger battler. Such did Frak do at some point in his career. I think Frak will win this one off experience, knowing how to score where it matters and drop the best verse overall.

Real had a big win last week defeating 7. Bigdog also had a big win knocking out Penrino and sending him on a few hour rant about pension and pen chin not rhyming...which it does by the way. Lets hope bigdog doesn't send his next opponent on a multiple hour tirade. I think he will take this one but real will also have a nice drop. Should be a battle to check for.

Will he even show up? Ace wonders no showed last week. Why would we expect it to change this week? I hope that it does. But for that very reason I predict hot 16 to win this one who has shown up every match thus far.

G. Bigdog’s Thoughts




First off, I'd like to give the due props to those that helped make the league a success so far. For a Battle Arena that was dead to now having a league that has over 20 battlers in a matter of weeks is an accomplishment. The energy is high in there and hopefully we can keep this thing growing, so props to those that set the league up, those working with the mag and to the battlers.

I think I can speak for about everyone in that the league hasn't hit full stride yet as far as talent is concerned. Many of us are just flat-out underperforming. Myself included in that, and I think others like SPS, HHP and Prince feel that they haven't hit their stride yet either. I've lacked alot of motivation in these battles so I've been forcing bars that aren't BD quality. I think it's necessary though to give due where it's deserved and that goes to the battlers who I feel have stepped up and performed up to their levels so far, like 7, J Qual and NYT.

I think we all have our own ideas also on how the league would be best ran. Everyone enjoys power, and that could be the downfall of this league. Drama is one thing, bitching is another. Bitchassness is an epidemic in this country, and this forum is not immune. Whether you are bitching about votes, outcomes, etc., it's unnecessary. Deal with the truth, deal in facts. If you didn't come proper, don't blame others....don't blame not having enough time, or that it was just keyed....blame yourself. Take responsibility as an artist in your own work and realize we can all step our games up.

I also think in order for this league to advance to the level it's capable of, we need to seperate ourselves from what other leagues do. Everyone is on this 'a league is only battles, 16 vs. 16 and that's it!' That's stuck in some old school frame of mind. This league is to test the true artist who is able to mix his style up and whether that be in a straight 16 battle, or a topical battle, or a wordplay battle, or a personals battle, it don't matter....a battle is a battle. If you fear change, if you fear the uncomfortable, then artistry ain't for you. As a site we need to offer people something they can't get nowhere else, and the league is part of that. So think differently and speak up when you got ideas, whether you are new or a vet, but don't take rejection to your ideas like a bitch, remember that that shit is contagious. Let's keep moving things forward HHG, so let's stop the bitchassness and use that energy in a better way. You mad? Drop a diss. Look at penrino, he was on some bitchassness and then used that focus (after awhile) to drop a hot diss, that's where it's at. Even though that shit was aimed at me, I can step back and say that was proper. No need to make 20 posts trying to state your point, do that in 20 bars instead. That's what it's about kids.

So from now on, remember this folks.....HHG is a No Excuse League. So you got ideas? Post it in the lounge. You got something to say? Post in the mag. You feeling bent? Post a diss. We ain't saying to stop feeling what you feeling, we just saying do it in a positive way to make this league better, and I know ya'll can feel that!

As we all know, the league will be getting improvements after Week 10 (last week of this league). Shadow, Real, and I will put rules and regulations on a new lwague afterwards and the rankings will start off frm where we left off in this league.
