"My hero's have the heart to lose the life i wanna live"

Ratatouille > simpsons....
And good to see javier bardem won that for no country for old men...best acting i've seen in a long time.

Cops are really just the largest, most organized, well-funded, and best connected gang in the world.
Anticipated games:
Riddick Dark Athena
Mafia 2
Tekken 5
Red Faction 3
Max Payne 3
I Am Alive...
Mass Effect 2
Splinter Cell: Conviction
Hitman 5
The Golden Globes were already a joke, but being forced to cancel the ceremony is just hilarious.
My thoughts on the movies because I don't watch that much TV. The fact that The Wire isn't nominated for anything just reinforces my disinterest in that part of the awards.
Best Motion Picture - Drama
American Gangster
Atonement
Eastern Promises
The Great Debaters
Michael Clayton
No Country For Old Men
There Will Be Blood
I've seen four of the seven nominees and I want to see two others (all but The Great Debaters). I have to say that No Country for Old Men is probably the best movie I've seen this decade, but I'm not surprised it didn't win. I haven't seen Atonement yet, and I find it hard to believe that I'll think it's better than No Country for Old Men, but it's supposed to be great as well.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama
Cate Blanchett – Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Julie Christie – Away From Her
Jodie Foster – The Brave One
Angelina Jolie – A Mighty Heart
Keira Knightley – Atonement
I haven't seen any of these movies. I read Jolie was supposed to be great, but all early indication is that Christie will be the frontrunner in this category for the Oscars as well...
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama
George Clooney – Michael Clayton
Daniel Day-Lewis – There Will Be Blood
James McAvoy – Atonement
Viggo Mortensen – Eastern Promises
Denzel Washington – American Gangster
Viggo Mortensen was great as well, but Daniel Day-Lewis's performance was even better. Surprised that Brolin didn't get a nod for No Country for Old Men. I think Denzel is one of the most overrated actors in Hollywood. Coincidentally, I think the same for Russell Crowe.
Best Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy
Across The Universe
Charlie Wilson's War
Hairspray
Juno
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
I hated Sweeney Todd, but it seemed like the frontrunner. Juno was good and I'm kind of surprised it didn't win but not really. Charlie Wilson's War and Across The Universe were OK but not award material. I have no desire to see Hairspray.
Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy
Amy Adams – Enchanted
Nikki Blonsky – Hairspray
Helena Bonham Carter – Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Marion Cotillard – La Vie En Rose
Ellen Page – Juno
I'm more surprised Juno didn't take this category. I thought Ellen Page was quite good. Dunno anything about the actress who won.
Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy
Johnny Depp – Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Ryan Gosling – Lars and the Real Girl
Tom Hanks – Charlie Wilson's War
Philip Seymour Hoffman – The Savages
John C. Reilly – Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
I thought Depp was cringe-worthy. Hanks was similar. Gosling delivered a great, subtle performance and he would be my choice. I've heard Hoffman is great in The Savages, which I'll probably go to see within the week.
Best Performance by an Actress In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture
Cate Blanchett – I'm Not There
Julia Roberts – Charlie Wilson's War
Saoirse Ronan – Atonement
Amy Ryan – Gone Baby Gone
Tilda Swinton – Michael Clayton
Cate Blanchett was very good. She's probably one of the best actresses of her generation. Deserving.
Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion PictureCasey Affleck – The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford
Javier Bardem – No Country For Old Men
Philip Seymour Hoffman – Charlie Wilson's War
John Travolta – Hairspray
Tom Wilkinson – Michael Clayton
Javier Bardem's was one of my favorite performances of the year. It's a travesty if he doesn't win the Oscar as well.
Best Animated Feature Film
Bee Movie
Ratatouille
The Simpsons Movie
Ratatouille was far superior to both of the other movies. The Simpsons Movie was OK, but not award material. Bee Movie was just abysmal.
Best Foreign Language Film
4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days
The Diving Bell And The Butterfly
The Kite Runner
Lust, Caution
Persepolis
Can't wait to see the winner, but I'm not sure if it'll ever come closer than a long ass Metro ride to me. Might have to wait until DVD. All the nominees are supposed to be great and I want to see them all.
Best Director - Motion Picture
Tim Burton – Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Ethan Coen, Joel Coen – No Country For Old Men
Julian Schnabel – The Diving Bell And The Butterfly
Ridley Scott – American Gangster
Joe Wright – Atonement
Coen brothers were great, but then again I can't comment on Julian Schnabel, who I'm pretty sure won at Cannes this year so...
Best Screenplay - Motion Picture
Atonement
Charlie Wilson's War
The Diving Bell And The Butterfly
Juno
No Country For Old Men
Juno might have made a strong push, but thankfully it didn't. I really can't complain when this movie wins.
Best Original Score - Motion Picture
Grace Is Gone
The Kite Runner
Atonement
Eastern Promises
Into The Wild
One category that really doesn't interest me and that I don't know much about the criteria, though I did like There Will Be Blood's score, which didn't get a nomination.
Best Original Song - Motion Picture
"Despedida" – Love In The Time Of Cholera
"Grace Is Gone" – Grace Is Gone
"Guaranteed" – Into The Wild
"That's How You Know" – Enchanted
"Walk Hard" – Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
See above.
The Simpsons Movie was lackluster at worst and average at best.
I really think it could've been a better adaptation to the big screen than it was.
Unfortunately, most of these movies on the list I have not seen nor heard of. This was a bad year for me and movies.
This bitch said "Who the fuck died and made you god?" I said "Jesus". - Royce Da 5'9"
a few animated features better than the simpsons movie.. rataouille, bee movie, meet the robinsons, surfs up.. by farrrrr
