Does your body really exist?

Before u post that this is a stupid thread, read cause it has some relevancy if u know anything about philisophy. This can be confusing so ill summerize it, but I just wanted your thoughts on the subject.

Some Philisophers believed that the human mind is more powerful than we know and that our body is an illusion that the mind created. Your mind created your body to carry out its the operation your soul wants it to. Where it gets even more confusing is that your soul is inhabited in your mind and when your body become useless to it in the form of what we know as death, the soul leaves and travels to inhabit another life. Your soul was sent to earth to accomplish a certain mission(by who its unclear). Any pain that you feel is notice to the brain that your body is near a possible threat.

Theres more to it but ill stop here to get some thoughts, It makes some sense I guess but I had a hard time in philisophy class to agree wit it.

You do know this a well documented philosphy in oppsition of Rene Descartes theory on existence "I think therefore I am".

So if this theory exsisted for hundreds of years yet its still being disbuted I doubt ill ever laugh about It.

my high wore off but when i smoke again ill think about this and ill post my opinion. but the mind is very very powerful thats why i don't believe it when scientists say we use all our minds power.

Philosphy is one of the a hard fields to prove right or wrong because its all belief and interpretation

Many scientist theory's have been proven wrong but very few philospher have been proven wrong and probley wont be until another millenium.

U minus well tell everyone to stop reading the bible, remake the constitution(which may sound nice but would in reality cause chaos) ect...

Supported by the fact that the eyes reflect light that bounces off of objects and sends images to the brain. Also by the fact that people see rainbows and other optical illusions on the daily.

Supported by the fact that everyone has their own pain tolerance level, evidenced on one extreme by hypochondriacs and to the other extreme by the performers that stab themselves and play with fire willingly. Anyway, good post. I'll be thinking about this today.

I understand what u mean but, when I say "illusion"
I use the term loosly, because like I said, we dont know the extent of the minds capabilities, so illusion is the best way to describe it. Your five senses would tell another body is really there but the mind created it and in all reallity the body is nothing.

It just dont make sense because we havnt experience a type of illusion that we can touch or whatever.

Btw: have u ever had a dream that it felt like it really happened, well that feeling is hard to explain by scientist, so who knows what our minds are truely capable of. scientist studyed the brain and notice only about 10% of it was actually doing somthing, so whats the other 90% of it can do.

well we think about sex 90% of the time, but I mean its crazy thinking about what we can do with our minds.

Sometime I can focus my mind to taste things that arent there, can be hella hungry and image eating a hamburger and get the taste down exactly. People can completely block out pain if they focus but who knows.

but yea for the moment ima use 90% of it thinking about sex till i learn otherwise.

I heard dreams are what really goes on in your mind, your fears, love, anything that you reguarly would not say out loud is played out in your head. Your dreams are the best way to look at ones self, try to think next time your in one and alter it to what you want.
I also heard that its a connection to the other side such as Heaven or God. In your dreams anything is possible and that you are really asleep when your body is an awaken state but that you are awake when your in your dormant state.
For instance right now is not your real state but its what goes on in your head and when you are asleep that your back in the normal. When you die you are returned to that state in the after life.

Many different theories, pretty interesting topic though.

Also when your in a dream, move your eyelids up and down as if trying to open your eyes. Its how you force yourself to wake up. Its pretty weird your vision shows the outside world in a bubble as if on a wall looking at it, with your current dream surrounding it. As you wake up u zoom into the bubble and you awake. Try it its pretty tight and youll remember everything that happened.

Thats the what the whole topic is about, is the body real, is it really present under whatever circumstances we are here for.
