Frank Mir Issues Apology After Making Death Threats Towards Lesnar

UFC President Dana White released the following to UFC.com regard Frank Mir's comments towards UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar:
Dana White, UFC President, today made a public statement following the remarks Frank Mir made to a member of the media regarding UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. In an interview with WXDX-FM Mir stated that he wanted Lesnar “to be the first person that dies due to Octagon-related injuries.”
“I was disappointed by Frank Mir’s comments," said White. "Frank’s been with the UFC a long time, he’s a two-time heavyweight champion and a commentator for the WEC. I think his emotions are running high right now, he has a big fight coming up next month and he’s still upset about his loss to Lesnar. He’s been talked to, he regrets what he said, and he won’t be saying anything like that again.”
“I would like to apologize to Brock Lesnar, his family, the UFC and the UFC fans for my stupid remarks,” said Mir. “I respect Brock, all the other fighters, and the sport of mixed martial arts. I’m sorry that I stepped out of line.”

I watched UFC 116 the other night. I'm not sure what to think. In the first round, Shane Carwin dominated with his boxing skills. He knocked Brock to the ground and was pounding the hell out of him. So bad to the point I knew if it was being done to any other fighter, the ref would have stopped the fight. In the second round Brock took down Shane and made him submit. Brock knew Shane was a better striker so he did what he did best, wrestling.
