PRIDE IS MOVING IN ON UFC TERRITORY
Pride sending Gomi to the UFC
The plan is to take LW title
In a report published today, the Japanese newspaper Daily Sports says that DSE, the company responsible for Pride, is working on sending Gomi to fight in the UFC. Unlike what happened with Cro Cop, however, Gomi will continue to perform for the Japanese organization, as he is still being managed by it.
According to the publication, Pride's goal is to allow Gomi to fight so as to, after fighting at the second edition of Pride USA, set for February 24, defeat Sean Sherk, current lightweight champion of the American organization.
The organization is also trying to get Wanderli Silva to fight UFC Champ Chuck L
Pride-fc won the previous Origination fights( remember Chuck Vs Rampage)
I like this shit though, pride is kinda like Vince McMahon( smackdown,raw,ECW) , having one big show were fighter from different organizations can come in and out.
UFC should not let this happen, then again this’ll bring in more fns to the UFC and if Pride fails they’ll be giving UFC more fans.
Feb Pride show will be the announcement of Gomi going over there to the UFC to fight the Champion. He says if it is Sherk, it would be a easy fight
