With his arm wrapped around White’s shoulder, Soares leaned in and delivered a proposition. “Spider” Silva would move permanently to light heavyweight, even if it meant the unorthodox move of giving up his middleweight belt.

“I can do that,” White smiled, a bit stunned at the offer. “I like that. We can do that.”
    A. Silva has 3 fights left on his contract and wants to box Roy Jones Jr for multi-millions. He makes less than half a mill in the UFC. As long as a fighter holds a belt they have to extend their contract and he found a loophole. The only thing that will fuck that up is if Shogun beats Machida.

Yeah, but the plan was for Henderson to fight him.

Silva’s next title defense was supposed to be against Dan Henderson, who Silva savagely choked out in March 2008.

Fuck a plan! The plan was for Henderson to rematch Franklin but nobody gave a shit so they scrapped that fight and signed Belfort to fight Rich instead.

haha.. I would have liked to see the fight, but there are equally good/better fights in LHW so it's cool.

Fighters Only has been given to understand that Edith LaBelle landed in hot water after phoning the UFC on the morning of UFC 100 and telling them she was too ill to work the event that night.

The UFC apparently disputed that and claimed she was hungover from partying in Las Vegas the night before.

As a result, she was dismissed with immediate effect, which is why viewers did not see her working the Octagon at UFC 100.

That fucking sucks. I really liked Edith.

His losses outside of 155 are:

    Lyoto Machida
    GSP (Twice)
    and Matt Hughes.

He had already beaten Hughes before, and would have beaten him again but injured his ribs in the 2nd round. And that was when Hughes was the shit. So yes Penn deserves top 5.

They're saying Griffin dislocated his jaw early in the fight and that's why he'd drop after every shot to his head. That is also supposedly the reason he ran off the octagon so fast.

GRIFFIN UNINJURED, NOT DEALING WELL WITH LOSS

Following a devastating knockout loss to UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva at UFC 101 on Saturday night, former 205-pound champion Forrest Griffin wasted no time getting up from the mat and quickly exiting the Octagon.

At the post fight press conference, UFC President Dana White said he hadn't seen or heard from Griffin after the fight and he could be "back in Georgia" at that point.

“He’s an emotional guy,” commented White. “He came into this fight confident that he was going to beat Anderson Silva.”

Reports surfaced on Sunday that Griffin had suffered a jaw injury and that was the reason for his hasty exit, but MMAWeekly.com was able to confirm with representatives from Zinkin Entertainment, Griffin's management group, that he is physically fine following the Saturday night fight.

Griffin suffered no broken jaw and he is physically okay, said the Zinkin representative, but emotionally he is definitely not dealing well with the loss.

In more M-1-related comedy, they were supposed to run a show in Los Angeles on August 28th. Well, that show is now off, at least in California. They never bothered to apply for a promoter's license, and when the CSAC started asking questions while dealing with the Affliction deal the M-1 people disappeared. Finally, someone close to the organization contacted them and simply said, "Remove the date from the event schedule." M-1 apparently tried to get licensed in Nevada but it was too late to do it there as well. It's believed they are relocating the event to Kansas City, although M-1 has yet to make that official. As a result of all the hijinx, Don Frye, who was scheduled to headline the show against King Mo Lawal, announced that he was pulling out. In a related sidenote, to this day nobody from Affliction has ever contacted the CSAC about canceling the show that was supposed to take place over a week ago.

Yes......... fedor made the right decision....
