Them damn Japs need to fork up the dough. I can't believe they let the best MMA/anouncer Bas Rutten walk. Fuck Trigg, I watch the Japanese or Korean broudcast so I don't have to hear that idiot. As a martial artist, how to you feel about ring vs cage fighting?

good question, i mean really, it depends on the fighter(s). i've fought in both, i prefer the cage, but the ring has its advantages

the Cage is ment specifically for grapplers - wrestlers, BJJ fighters. large area to circle your oppenent, and plent of room for take downs sprawls ect.

the Ring, you can use in a variety of ways, ie, cornering, rope a dope, paint a nigga into the turnbuckles, and the footwork is what really comes down to a win or loss. (if evenly matched)

example, if you take a seasoned Muay Thai Boxer and tossed him against a damn good AND EXPERIENCED BJJ Figther, and put them in the cage, 9times outta 10 the Thai boxer will get tapped out in the first 3 mins.

put them in the ring ... good chance that the BJJ fighter will be ko'ed 90 seconds in.



i didn't know they let Bas walk, thats a shame though, he actually knows what the hell he's talking about, because he's a seasoned martialist.


UFC (made for grapplers) - horrible strikers, poor boxing training - all around entertainment chalked full of mediocre fighters, and sub par martialists. (basically bar brawlers) - however, they do have the occasional diamond in the roughbut they pick good matches for entertaining PPV ... save the refs

Pride (made for strikers) - very skilled martialists, decent boxing traning, but suffers from a overload of just uncondtioned idoits who become nothing but tune up matches, and the Pride competitors tend to fight scrubs for a decent bit of their career to build records.

Rodrigo Nogueira will eventually defeat him by decision. He has been training with the Cuban boxing team and his improvements where shown in his 2nd fight with Barnett. He is about equal with Fedor in grappling but Fedor is a beast when it comes to ground and pound. If Rodrigo can stay off of his back against Fedor I promise you he'll get the decision.

Fedor trained in Combat Sambo, so his grapples, take downs, and ground game will be nothing short of superb. if i recall right, i thought he was a national champion.

You can't really say Mark Hunt almost defeated Fedor unless you want to count when Fujita almost floored him with a hook or when Kevin Randleman suplexed him on his head. All accounts lead to Fedor submitting them not moments later. I've watch the Hunt match over and over again to see why he failed in that submission and my conclusion is that Fedor didn't even take that hold seriously. The first attempt Fedor broke the hold easily by lifting his left arm then the second attempt Fedor just let him twist his arm without fazing him then he gave up. Mark Hunt used his weight to his advantage to dominate early on but as soon as Fedor got some leverage he put it away quick and easy.

To my knowledge he still is the Russian Sambo champ. I think he competed in 06 during his MMA hiatus do to hand injury.

yeh fedor is a bad motor scooter.

Combat Sambo is no joke. it was made renowned by the Russian Tactical Spetznaz Force. also the KGB implemented it. Now most world military factions use Combat Sambo in special forces training, ie green berrets, navy seals, and the marines implement a watered down vesion in basic training. Sambo really is the result of all military CQC.


FYI ... almost, only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. you can almost win a fight, or course, but you still lose.

Fedor will lose one way or another, Mark Hunt should been more willing to trade shots, instead of take him down. People go half ass when they fight fedor instead of finishing strong. They catch him and become so surprised that they caught and then just let it slip away, Not taking anything away from fedor he's the GOAT right now, but the figther ain't being real agressive with him in the stand up department.

I just saw prides debut to America and I can honestly say( UFC's in trouble), every fight I saw was good and the matchups were good. Fedor Retired Colemen again.randelman lost to shogun rua(which I didn't Like)
butterbean got a knockout(LMFAO)

I was better than any UFC PPV event.................
