    Everyone knows my pick

But looking at the rest of those teams...

Heat - still the best team in the east, no excuse to miss the NBA Finals besides injuries.

Cavs - only other East team with a real shot to get to the Finals.

Bulls - they needed a guy who could score down low, so they get Ben Wallace and Tyrus Thomas? Hmm..

Pistons - are done. Their top 2 pick in one of the best drafts ever turned into Kelvin Cato. Ben is gone. Their bench that used to be the best part of the team is pretty much gone too. The team hasn't drafted a good player since Tayshaun. They're done, fuck the Pistons.

Mavericks - the best team in the NBA.

Suns - everyone knows about the Suns, don't need to say anything about them except Nash better not win a 3rd straight MVP.

Spurs - one of the only 3 REAL title contenders, imo.

Pacers - probably don't deserve to be on the list. They have some talent, had a decent offseason, but they end up with nothing for Ron Artest, that's gonna kill them.

Lakers - same as the Suns, not much to say...it's Kobe's team. However he do the Lakers do

Surprise team - Denver. I'll make another post on the under-rated teams/players later, but Denver is the one team not on that list who can really compete for a title.

Surprise Team - Houston Rockets...a lineup that has T-Mac, Yao, Bonzi Wells, Shane Battier....it has potential to be a solid ball club, assuming the most important part of this equation stays good...T-Mac's Health

    In the East...
Miami - Defending Champs, very solid. Only thing i wonder about is age, and with that comes health problems. Can they expect shaq, zo and GP to all stay healthy this year? Can they expect Jason Williams to continue playing within the system? We'll see.

Cleveland - They've got a taste of the playoffs, and have added size downlow and a veteran guard that can score in David Wesley. Add Shannon Brown and Daniel Gibson and they've got the speed they've been missing. You've got an all star center in Z, Gooden/Varejao/Donyell also helping downlow makes it very deep, Lebron and Hughes controlling the defense with Eric Snow (very underrated D player, shut down Chauncey bad in the playoffs) and o yea, Lebron Lebron Lebron on offense

Chicago - Helluva defensive ballclub......but defense was never their problem, so anyone who thinks the Ben Wallace signing is going to take them to the next level lacks the thought process of looking at the problem. They still have no post threat, and please don't say Tyrus Thomas. They made a huge mistake trading Eddy Curry last year, and still lack the threat downlow.

Pistons - Nazr in for Ben? Ehhh....Tayshaun is gonna play a bigger role then ever this year, and deservedly so. Rip is still the best off the ball player in the NBA, and they still got big time Chauncey. They'll be very competitive, but not being a defensive ball club anymore will hurt them. Look for Rasheed to complain alot this year.

NJ - 3 years too late, JKidd is too old, VC and RJ are not playing into the system
Orlando - give them some time, they'll be tough
Washington - that ship left last year
Milwaukee - playoff team, not much more
Phili - not even a playoff team
Toronto - surprise team of the East, played very well in teh 2nd half of last year

    West
Spurs - a healthy tim duncan means a west championship for them
Mavs - missed their chance last year, they lost leadership in darrell armstrong and lost a HUGE player in Marquis Daniels....for Austin Croshere?!?! Who was making that decision!
Suns - will do very good in the regular season...but i repeat...WILL NEVER win a nba championship with their style of play, has 2 many chances for off nights that good defensive teams will exploit (Spurs)
Lakers - Gettin Radmanovic and Maurice Evans were good moves to help take the pressure off Kobe on offense a little, they'll be top 4 this year come playoffs
Denver - very solid team, but discension is filling that ball club, Kenyon isn't happy, but an improved Carmelo will help make up for that
Memphis - will make playoffs, as prob 8 seed, will miss Pau Gasol for the first couple months
Minny - Oh not this year either...do you feel worse for any1 else then KG?
Clippers - Can't expect a repeat season out of Tim Thomas and what he did in PHX, but they still will be solid, but back to second fiddle in LA
New Orleans - Last season was a mirage, Chris Paul is great, but how much more can Peja give you? resigning Rasual was good, but losing leadership in PJ Brown and a young talent like JR Smith for Tyson Chandler? Ehh...and losing Kirk Snyder is another blow...they better hope Bobby Jackson can go back to his form of Sacramento

MVP - Lebron James...did you expect anything else?
Eastern Conf. Finals - Cavs over Miami...the series everyone wants to see
Western Conf. Finals - Spurs over Lakers...Lakers get past suns, Spurs past Mavs, and Bruce Bowen helps to control Kobe

NBA Finals - Cavs over Spurs.....King James begins his Reign

    Bigdog...big diggity...B muthafuckin D....

how can we take you seriously when you say
They made a huge mistake trading Eddy Curry last year
The Bulls end up with at least one (probably two) top 5 draft picks, two second round draft picks, and a solid, young, improving PF in Sweetney...for an underachieving center who can't rebound (career avg 5.1/game), can't play defense (career avg 0.8 bpg, 0.3 spg), and can't even hold on to the basketball (4.6 turnovers per48 minutes in '06, number 2 in the NBA)....AND he has heart problems? Come on BD....

Nothing else really stands out too much....but for Dallas, Armstrong's "leadership" wasn't the reason we got to the Finals...Avery can replace DA easily for motivation, and Dirk's starting to turn into a better leader too...plus we have JET, Howard, and Stackhouse who can all be leaders on the floor...

and yeah, the Daniels-Croshere trade was a stupid move, but Avery hated Daniels anyway..he averaged 12 minutes and 4 points a game against the Spurs, 7 minutes and 2 points against the Suns...

but that "made a huge mistake trading curry"....smh...

And the Hornets were def not a mirage last year...

I just dunno how they'll do without a shooting guard. But when you add Bobby Jackson, Peja Stojakovic, Janero Pargo, Cedric Simmons, and Hilton Armstrong to last year's team....you think the Grizzlies are better?

Yes, it WAS a mistake trading Eddy Curry....you said it yourself when you said they have NO POST OFFENSE...maybe your not aware, but eddy curry = post offense.....you said it urself, i said it....theres no dispute, i don't kno wat ur arguing bout J man.....and the draft picks dont mean nothin if they dont turn out, theirs hope for Tyrus Thomas so time will tell on that, but the IMMEDIATE impact is what i was referring to as a mistake, and as we saw in the season, they missed eddy curry, they took a step back last year, and who were they missin....exactly

and the hornets were a mirage....they got career years out of alot of players, most noticeably david west hittin 97 game winners...theyll miss pj brown a lot....im not convinced on ANY of their rookies

and when memphis gets pau gasol back....they are WAYY better then the hornets...light years

    Heres my expert anylysis

    East
Cleveland-I know people rating them high because of thier good front court and king james of course but thier back court got a lot to prove. Hughes hasnt done much, cant count on rookies to much and the others are well past thier prime so unless they guards improve i dont expect to much more.
DEtroit-Everyones counting out detroit just cause ben wallace but they couldnt get it done with him so he it was good he left, Most center in league suck anyway so now flip saunders will have no problem taking out his offenseive plays and turning them from a defense power to a offense power
Chicago-They needed veteran leadership and more experience which they got over summer so i expect good things but not a championship
Miami-Same as last year except more injuries, more declining stats and more wade, they can still pull a repeate.

    West
Phoenix-they upgraded their bench, got stoudimire back, got more experience and if they can find someone to save they ass 100 times in the playoffs like timmy did then I can see them push for a championship.
Dallas-I like them cause they add more playoff ready veterans and improved upon last season. They want croshere to be thier clutch shooter whitch they need last year, deaven geaorge will always help and maurice ager caould more than replace danials and howard and harris finally came out thier shell so i see them winning the championship.
LAC-Theres to much hype on lakers when the clippers are a far better team and that is gained more experience and learderhip over the summer, i like them to do some damage in the playoffs
Spurs-they have been passed up as the leadin power in the nba and didnt improve,so i can see them doing same shit as last year.
Hou-Its ovious they are going for it all this year when they traded away gay and swift for battier and signed wells, I think theyll make alot of noise because if they dont get it this year they gonna have to rebuild again.

I dun see anyone else competein to much.

it's not like Curry even gave them much offense...his "career year" was 16 points, 5 rebounds and 2 and half turnovers a game....Curry has great moves in the post and everything, but the coach can't let him stay in the game because he has so many turnovers. That's def not the kind of offense a championship team needs man...

I know Ben doesn't give them any offense, but last year he averaged only 1 turnover and had around 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 11 rebounds. There's NO question Ben's a better fit than Curry.

And next year, they can easily get any of Spencer Hawes, Brandan Wright, Yi Jianlian....maybe even Greg Oden? And you'd rather have Curry?!? Please...

And the Hornets have a coach who's been to the NBA Finals, one of the top 5 PGs in the NBA, a top 5 backup PG - Jackson, when Peja's healthy he's an MVP candidate....and who had a career year except David West? Mason had one of the worst years of his career, PJ only averaged 9 and 7, Andersen and JR were pretty much gone the whole year...the rookies are gonna do exactly what they were drafted for, rebound and play defense. Paul's gonna get everyone the ball and Peja's gonna average 20+ unless he's hurt.

Pau might miss close to the whole year and having Damon and Chucky Atkins control the point guard...doesn't seem like a playoff team to me man.

I don't like our pick ups really, they're aiiiiight.... but our core is still too much for anybody else when we're healthy

Nice pick up by the Rockets tho, they're building a real solid, tough team

Spencer Hawes is a good center, Greg Oden is great defensively, offensively he is VERY raw....Brandan Wright....HE AIN'T EVEN A CENTER!!! come on jamal, kno ya stuff better!

and once again, your waitin for things in teh future....by then, big ben will be even more on the downside as will most the team....Eddy Curry gets them at least 16 in the post....who's gonna give them that? none of those players you mentioned would get you 16 utnil at least their 2nd year....so your waitin 3 years down the road at least....eddy would be doin it now....its fact!

This is what i want to happen.....Wizards meets Cavs in the East Finals, Wiz get calls cuz they not favoring LeBron, and Gilbert will finally get the love he deserves!!

realistically tho, i think my Wiz can make it out of the first round this year....they match up well with alot of teams (they were 4-0 against Pistons last year.....Gilbert Arenas is a freak, him having DeShawn Stevenson by his side now will only help..slide Caron to the 3, Jamison at the 4.....school the young boy Blatche so he can get back his McDonalds High School game swag back where he was MVP.....and Haywood is not a beast by far he's a big body who can rebound and block shots when he's motivated...and give u 8-10 points......so we are def on our way up.

I like Suns this year, especially if Amare is ready to go....i'm sleepin on the Heat, but Wade has the capability to take games over at will....Shannon Brown is a good look for Cavs...wha's Hughes situation with the Cavs? They gonna be a threat.....Hornets is a sleeper....CP3 is a problem and his supporting cast is lookin like they ready to do something now...is Birdman back this year? Can't sleep on Jersey either....its gonna be an interesting year............look out for Redick, he's gonna have his ideal role....jus spot up and shoot....Nelson gonna do his thing and dish out when need be - i'm a lil shaky on Redicks range tho.....anyways, i could go on forever.....ya'll interject..

I don't think I'm even gonna associate with Dro for a few months...we both know nothing matters until Mavs-Spurs in the playoffs.

And BD, please. I don't even know what to say anymore...if you truly, deep in your heart believe the Bulls got the worse end of that deal, there's something wrong with your head. Nothing I can do to fix it.

    lollll jamal, ur misunderstanding me

in teh big picture, who got the best end of the deal? the bulls, no doubt

short term? the knicks...it doenst show, but they did

The Bulls lack what....post offense....eddy curry does what good? post offense...that is my point...the long and the short of it....and that CAN'T be disagreed on

It can def be disagreed on....Curry's post-offense is him turning it over more than anyone in the NBA besides Steve Nash per 48. He has good feet but that's it, Ben is a much better option than Curry even though he can't score any points.

Long term...Thomas could be the next Amare and you have maybe 5 guys who can be true franchise players in the '07 draft.

Short term...the Bulls are Scot Skiles team. Skiles turned KIRK MUTHAFUCKIN HINRICH into a good defender...the fact is Curry can't play defense, he can't rebound, he can't catch passes. And if you can't do that on a Skiles team, he shouldn't be there. He's not a good center.

It doesn't matter how you look at it, the Bulls completely killed the Knicks in that trade.
