funny shit
In this week's Hip-Hop Charts, Outkast takes back the top slot, Young Dro tumbles far below, and Rick Ross is back.
Taking back the top spot this week is Outkast, holding it down at No. 12. The duo is still moving units, with a successful 324,100 copies sold after 3 weeks on the move. This week, they are still holding down a decent amount of radio and video airplay, which has contributed to the additional 49,500 units sold this week.
Losing his top slot from last week and falling ten positions on the charts is Young Dro, coming in at No. 13 this week. Apparently, Dro isn't smokin' enough to stay in the top ten, as Best Thang Smokin' has already fallen a significant amount of seats on the charts this week, but has still brought in 46,000 discs. To date, the debut LP from the ATLien has taken in 150,100 CDs.
Back in the top three on the Hip-Hop Charts is Rick Ross, moving down one position to No. 14 this week. The Miami rapper is striving for the gold after a very successful 5 weeks, as Port of Miami has pushed 406,500 units. The week in total reads off at 34,700.
Falling fourteen seats on the charts this week is MethodMan. The Shaolin representative is hurtin' on the charts this week, as the 7-day cycle for 4:21 has stopped at 30,400. It's been a rough two weeks for the Wu-Tang legend, as he has only been able to move 92,700 units.
Stepping up one seat to No. 28 this week is Yung Joc. The Atlanta Bad Boy is enjoying success with his debut, Yung Joc City, which has pushed 690,800 units after 14 weeks on the go. This week, the total has rounded off its digits to 27,000, a similar week-ending from last week's 27,900.
Falling face first twenty-three slots on the charts this week is The Roots, breaking the nose dive at No. 32. "Don't Feel Right" hasn't built enough clout to receive the much needed airplay, and for this the Def Jam debut from the rap band, Game Theory, has only pushed out 86,900 copies. This week, The Roots have finished off this week's digits at 25,900.
Next up is Too Short, toppling thirty-three positions on the charts this week to land at No. 47. Unfortunately, the whistle has been blown on the LP, which has stiffened since its debut last week. This week, Blow the Whistle has rounded its total number of units sold to 18,000, bringing the total to a slim 58,000.
Coming in at No. 72 this week is Pharrell. In My Mind has fallen six seats on the charts this week, bringing in 13,100 units compared to a slightly different 14,900 last week. To date, the effort from the popular producer has finished off at 294,700 in week seven.
Finally, T.I's clout is back, Obie Trice KO's the second round, DMX has dogged the charts, and Busta Rhymes is on the edge. This week, T.I has jumped up eleven slots on the charts, as his new single "Live in the Sky" begins to make its rounds. The week-in total reads off at 12,000, rounding off the total to 1,476,300. Taking the No. 87 seat this week is Obie Trice. The Detroit native has skipped twenty-three seats on the charts this week, as the rap race continues to run its course at a slow 10,800. This week, Trice has lost the round once again, with a tired 128,000 CDs sold after 4 weeks on the charts. Next up is DMX, clinging to the No. 91 slot. After 5 weeks, X has sold 242,100 units, as the 7-day cycle for this week has finished off at 10,300. Just barely holding on to the rap race this week is Busta Rhymes, gripping tightly to No. 93. At gold status, it seems the Brooklyn rep has lost his power, sitting at a quiet 9,800. To date, The Big Bang has banged out 535,700 CDs.
