"Whats sad is i love you cuz your my brother but you traded your soul for riches

" You made it a hot line i made it a hot song"

    BEFORE YOU POST READ

Whats up , i created this thread so we could discuss certain issues about Nas and Jay......i mean everything from albums to thier current joint venture: also things like without the lime or the light who is the better emcee, or who has the most influence on todays rappers, no heated discussions if we can try to avoid them but good ones that everyone can put thier input in. Try to discuss who belongs above who on an offical top hiphop artist list , be creative start up other questions about the two if the thread starts to get dead, lets try to get an upper hand on whos the better emcee and who deserves the credit from a REAL HIPHOP STANDARD.....post away my niggz...

" Whos the best emcee BIGGIE, JAY-Z n NAS" JAY-Z

"Whos the best PAC, NAS, AND BIG aint no rest" NAS

i think nas is a better rapper. he spits the real stuff. its not all about guns, cash, hoes, etc. he talks about whats real, and whats good. thast why i like nas. he aint all about the typical east coast shit. you know? and i think nas had a better record of keeping a good cosistent making albums. i mean out of all of his albums one is wack (nastramadus) and the rest is pretty good or up there on top. nastramadus was one of the wack ones he made, but it still has good songs, and i can still listen to it pretty good. not as much as illmatic or it was written, but i can still listen to it. jay-z on the other hand, is a pretty cosistent emcee but im not much of a fan of him. hes good, but he kinda spits about too much shit that everyone raps about.

"Whos the best PAC, NAS, AND BIG aint no rest" <----thats the truth.

I would say that Nas is better lyrically for a few reasons 1)I think he shows more creativity on the mic 2) He can rap about almost anything, although sometimes it comes out wack, his important more socially conscious songs are sick 3) He just has more sick punchlines than Jay z in my opinion.

However, they have both had their own effect on hip hop, whether it be style wise(Jay z took that category) or just overall influencing more artists. But I still think that if I had to make a list, Nas would be above Jay
