I didn't quite see a category for this so here goes.

Firstly; what up; my name is Dave The One Mendez. I slice the hell out of Audio using a PC and A Mac.
There's xtreme panning, Effects, Turntable stops, wind-ups and stutters etc...all done in software with some efx plugins. Back in the day; they used to use a reel to reel and a razor blade to do this kind of stuff. They'd chop up the tape and piece it back together to do all the stutters etc...

I use a combination of programs; Sound Forge and Acid; I use the beatmapper mode in Acid and cut it up on 16, 32, 64 (quantize) Sound Forge handles the effects (turntable stops, powerdowns and echoes)

This was an extreme cut-up; normally I don't do things this heavy but it's like a battle track to showcase the extreme audio editing and effect skills.

I recently put my page back up at myspace; I was sorry to see it go; had a few thousand people and it was building momentum but the headaches that came with not being able to reply to people pissed me off and I took it down and recreated the whole page. I have some more tracks/mixes that I did (some calmer than this but still nasty) on there in two seperate players; There's a reggaeton meets hip hop supermix in the first player where I chop the hell out of a segment from BIG,TUPAC live at madison square garden (where brooklyn at) also, I took a shot and did system of a down - hypnotize to flex some more muscle with a different type of music and it worked well.

How long have I been at it? Since 2003

I never learned how to cut on reel to reel tape; always wanted to but I was to young and no one would let me near the razor blade and tape. So when I found Vegas Pro (that's the first program i did a cut on) and realized it was just like tape I flipped and then migrated to acid pro where insanity can be unleashed. acid pro 5 was definitley their last greatest version; i'm not feelin 6; it's more like 5.5 and feels unfinished.
On the mac; soudtrack pro; it's pretty wicked and most of the commands from acid pro work on it.
With this particular song I wanted to achieve a double time edit (timbaland style) it happened by accident to tell u the truth..............

I didn't think peeps were responding here. Been busy at myspace; addictive.

dude!!!! i cant thank you enough, so many bogus emcees out there, now i need suntin different..so if you need more tracks that i would like cut up...please say so...oh and i checked this beast everyday for a while and i thought you lost your name and password again but thanx for the mixes..the only one i listened to so far was the hyupnotize joint and that shit is tight my man...i would never like that song unless i heard your version....i tried to download the trial programs you use but they where freezin my comp up..so im'a leave it up to you....thanx for doing those songs i sent, if you do them lol...cause im sure it takes some time...ok im bout to go listen......later!!!
