Declaring one’s GOAT status is commonplace in hip-hop–well, in most competitive fields. While consensus agrees that the elusive crown belongs somewhere on either Tupac, Biggie, Jay Z, or Kendrick’s head, others have their own king in mind.

Delivering a rewind-worthy freestyle recently, Yelawolf took his “Elvis Messy” track to assert himself as the Muhammed Ali of hip-hop. He raps, “I write my flows like a fighter / These are punches being thrown / To your nose, duck and jab / Leaving blood patterns on the clothes / I might be white Muhammed Ali / As-salamu alaykum, here for the feast.”

With the third installment of his Trunk Muzik series approaching, it’s an auspicious time to create conversation around his name. Whether you agree with him or not, Yelawolf is intent on garnering the respect he deserves while marketing his upcoming release.
